The top switch is junk. A few Ace Frehley on / off deals and they are usually goners. Bottom switch is same as used on most “better” imports like Epi, Schecter ESP etc…not as good as Switchcraft, but ok.

Those Epiphone three way toggles are total junk. A "may work". I have beef cause one failed me at a gig on a barely used guitar. I always splurge for a Switchcraft or Gibson branded switch if I gotta Epiphone I"m gonna gig with.

They are not total junk, not a switchcraft but not total junk. Any switch can fail. Keep them clean and contacts tensioned correctly and they work fine. Are they appropriate for a world Metallica tour, no…Madison Square Bedroom they are fine.

Maybe so but I don't plug in at home all that much, just on stage. I won't risk a 100-200-300 plus dollar gig because i was to cheap to throw 30 bucks towards a decent switch. For my gigging instruments I demand quality electronics in whatever guitar it is I'm gonna use.

Just wire the pickups bridge pickup directly to the pots output jack and you too can gig for 100-200-300 plus dollars.

Only problems I typically see are cheap pots and jacks. Those need replaced with something better. Those open switches, not really that many issues as long as there is alittle preventative maintenance.

Time to replace the switch on one of my guitars as it's starting to fail. Would a sealed switch be better and longer lasting ?

Any cons to a sealed switch? I can see spacing being an issue for tight and busy control cavities but that shouldn't affect my particular guitar.
Most open switches and pots can be cleaned with deoxit

Genuine switchcraft is the way to go. I am constantly replacing many of these crappy closed switches on my bench each week with guitars that are coming in for repairs.
