When 7.xx came out, my jaw dropped, 8.xx only affected the drive blocks so it wasn't that much of an update (for me), 9.xx updated the power amp sim again and it sounded better than ever... 10.xx comes out and via my headphones everything sounds soooo much better, but in my live setup, no so much.
Maybe I'm just not loving the tones so much... everything sounds so... fizzy, not the digital fizz... just fizzy... or buzzy, like an over-saturated buzz fizz. I tried the Euro Uber (which via my headphones sounded great) via my QSC GX5 into my Marshall 1960 4x12 cab with the G12-75's (which is a bit bright) and my Flextone 4x12 cab (that is dark)... both even out very nicely because the Marshall gives me my highs and the Flextone gives me my lows. Well, the Uber sounded very compressed, overly saturated and fizzy... Then I tried the FAS Modern (one of my 9.xx favorites) and it was similar but a lot less compressed and a lot less fizz. Then the Recto New was a different kind of fizz but not as compressed. I just don't remember any of those sims sounding as fizzy as they do on 10.01. We're (hopefully) going to practice today and I'm going to adjust it some more... I had my input gain right at a steady yellow (no red), but to "clean" it up a bit (but still not enough) I had to lower the input gain to barely yellow... anyone else having issues with 10.xx?
P.S. Where's the modeling sub forum that this thread is supposed to be under?
