what should I expect? I love the amp to death already. Such a killer sounding amp. Hoping the depth mod makes it even better, if that is possible.

Any of you guys have a Soldano with the depth mod? What are your thoughts?

With the SLO's I had it gave the amp better low end at lower volume. You dont need it when it's cranked. I have gas for the HR 25 so bad it's killing me. I've a couple guitars for sale so I can get one. How much is the mod? I'd like to hear how you like it.

Definitely love the Hot Rod 25. Just sounds killer.

The mod is $150. I'll post my thoughts on the mod when I get it back. Might be 2-3 weeks depending on shipping time.

I'm in the east so it has to go all the way to Seattle, get the mod, then come all the way back. Really looking forward to it though.

Mike is such a cool guy and great amp builder. He replied to my email personally and from the sound of it will be doing the mod personally.

I added the depth mod myself to my JCA. I couldn't image playing the amp without the mod.

Good to hear! I can't wait to get it back.

Kind of worried about sending it across the country. Hope it arrives back to me in one piece. :D

I was gonna mod mine myself bought all the parts..all $6 worth..the more ive played it just havent felt like I need it...I like a good amount of low end and im leaving it on about 8 and its great....

Same way here. I don't feel I really need it but just want to try it out and think it will enhance the tone somewhat.

I love the amp as it is but thought, why not, and if I'm going to have it done why not let Mike himself do it. Even if it is overly expensive, it's a one time thing that will last me a very long time.

Adding a depth control is a very easy thing to do, especially if you are the kind of guy to take the chassis out and clip on a multimeter to check/adjust bias. Stepper drill bit, and under $10 in parts, and takes less than 30 minutes to do. I've done it on several of my amps and it's a lifesaver at lower volumes. Makes up for the lack of speaker movement when the volumes are low.

Depth Mod didn't really do a lot for me after i had it done

Doesn't really add low end thump just more deep frequency

Better cabs solved my issue afterwards

DM is a Presence for the lowend. It allows Lows to pass thru the negative feedback loop unaffected.

i put it in my soldano a long time ago, never really use it.

What do you guys usually prefer the depth mod control set to, for those that like it at all?
