I have had tremendous success with over the top, stupid gear ideas.

I REALLY want to find an undervalued bass 2x15 cab locally, like a trace elliot or something, and rock some high gain through it.

Is anybody doing this?

It's really made for guitar. I mean look at the old Dumbles...they had a 15 in them. Bruce and I have been talking about his very thing lately.

Yeah, I'll probably run a 2x15 and a 3x12 on each side of the 2150.

Ok let's say Stevies Dumble had a 15. Now I am not part of that quote!

You were never part of that bro!!!!

Your Egnater!

Every guitar amp (combo) I have played with a 15" has sounded better than its 1x12 or even 2x12 counterpart. I wish there was a greater selection of 15's to choose from.

I had a Delta Blues combo with a 1x15 Eminence Legend speaker.
It was really big and full sounding and the sizzle is slightly rolled off of the top end for a smoother gain tone.
It sounded great! I'd like to make a 1x15 cab.

done it LOVED IT!!!

the whole voice coil becomes useable in a mic'ing sence.

i wouldn't suggest running 12s and 15 with the same amp..

they need to be eq a little diffrent...(you need next to nothing in terms of bass) cranked mids sounds great!

I was using a real real cheap 2 /15 i know the guy who still has it, he blew the drivers! lol i might buy it back from him and put new speakers in it.
it sounded great!

Used with a Quad into an 800 power section, with the 800, my DR also

15's also need to run more power... so if your master is on 9:00 for 12's
your gunna have to be pushing almost half way up on the volume..

15's are lower sensitivty like green backs compaired to V30's not quite as loud.

and the lower frequencys take more power to reproduce accuratly

Back in the day, Frank Marino used them to great succes....

i had a cab with 2x12's and 1x15. it rocked pretty hard. i was using a roadking at the time so it great doing both cleans and large amounts of drive.

I use a 2x10 + 1x5 horn cab and a 1x15 cab in a bi-amp rig for bass. I've never tried it with guitar?

The 1x15 is an ADA Bassline 15 loaded with a 15" ElectroVoice speaker, cab is rated at 400W RMS. Closed back, front loaded, dimensions: D=16", W=24", H=24", weight 62 lbs. Its a very tight cab. I think it would sound great with guitar, my primary tone was very near Chris Squire early '70s Yes, which is to say, approximating an Ampeg SVT + 8x10 cab + Ric 4001, which is a very tight sound, and I was able to do quite well. Here are some specs on the cab: http://www.adadepot.com/adagear/gearpages/speakers/ADA-Bassline-15.htm

These cabs aren't too easy to find (I've been looking for awhile!) but if you can find one in good condition (probably around $200 or less), it might be worth considering, IMO.

(SPAM: I'm selling it as part of a full ADA bass rig, if that doesn't sell, I'll start selling the components individually. I purchased this ADA bass rig new back in the early '90s, its like new and hasn't played out live since '94 where its been in my home studio ever since)

I have replaced the pa amp with a Crate powerblock, sounds very good!

Damnit Gene you're getting me hard for 15's. I was soooo close to buying the Randall RS125XL. If Egnater makes a similar product I'm fuckin doomed. I already have a 4x12 and 4x10. Maybe a 2x15 in a 4x12 size enclosure? Hell I still like the idea of the 2x12 1x15. Don't do it Jeff! My poor wallet...

When I sell all the junk I have, I'm gonna acquire either a 4x10 Bogner cab, or a big ass 8x10 bass cab to use with my Diezel VH4s....that is if I get all my shit sold....sooooo many things.

You selling anything super cheap? I mean like SUPER DUPER cheap? Ya know, the "economy is bad, I've been laid off, I'm behind on bills, and my kid has a cavity in his first tooth" kinda cheap? If so, let me know. I'll buy it for next to nothing, then sell it for 10 times the price when the economy comes back around next year.

But yeah, it has to be cheap. :D
Nothing that cheap....but I have a pile of broken strings if you want those for $29571304985128936541283481326498712639487.99
