Settings a Rectifier to run with an Uberschall?

Hey guys!

Sorry for the new post, but I feel like the important info would be lost in the other thread.

I did some more dialing on the amps, and it seems that if I redial the Roadster a bit, I can get it to blend really well with the Uber.

So, I think I may stay with this setup. I know others have worked with mixing these two amps before. I'm curious though, how would YOU aim to set the rectifier to blend with the Uber? 6L6s or EL-34s in it? Modes? General settings?

I'm definitely going to run my high gain rhythm through both amps.

For other tones (clean, crunch, and lead), I'm thinking about just slaving the other Roadster channels into the Uber through the effects Return (all switching via GCX, etc.). The Roadster seems to do these other tones better than the Uber. I also have the option to use boosts, etc, to get these alternate tones out of the Uber, and run parallel with the Roadster again, but I feel like the Roadster has the up on this versatility, and running its preamp through the two power amps would do better on these alternate tones.

I'd appreciate your input!

Thanks again!

Eric

I would use the Orange channel and not the Red channel. It would blend better IMO. To blend with that amp I would aim for a less bass more mids approach on the Roadster. Definitely Diodes/Bold, experiment with Vintage/Modern settings.

line out box out of uberschall into slave in on recto lol ....

or you could just turn the recto off

just kidding just kidding

Id probably use the uber for the more growling and massive lows, and the recto set up with a ton of mids and bass off pretty much... experiment...

I know more RT users have used this combo, so more should chime in. Zombieland or Hollywood maybe? For now I would try the settings in that Tremonti vid I sent to you and yeah, try low bass settings on the recto and high bass settings on the uber. I disagree about getting all of the mids from the recto however. The Uber has much nicer sounding mids IMO. I'd try get your lows and those thick and rich low mids from the bogner and pick up the higher mids and some high end from the boogie.

I agree, especially for a regular Recto it will have more top end sizzle than the Uber to add for blending.

In this situation he has a Roadster, which if it was anything like my old one was very dark, darkest Recto I've owned. He has two very dark sounding amps at least on the high gain channels.

Thanks for the input so far guys!

Am I shooting myself in the foot by using a Roadster, since it is the darker amp in the rectifier lineage? Should I be looking to a regular one? I just LOVE its versatility.

I LOVE Rectos but I've found Roadsters/Road Kings to be darker and more smushy as mentioned. Selling a Roadster for a Dual Rec seems retarded IMO. Not that I don't think pound for pound the Dual isn't a better amp (tone wise it has a better ball/kick ratio) but if I was selling the Roadster I would choose a completely different amp. Unless you are really intent on maximizing the 'Recto' sound, in which case a 2010 Dual Recto with 6L6 has my favorite tonality of any Rectifier I've played and I'd point you in the direction of one of those.
