that does sound good
I had a JB and pulled it out, but probably should have left it as ti was always killer

I like it with some amps but with my SLO there was too much of a 'fixed wah' tonality at times.

Clips sound good.

Recently changed the electronics on my LP with JB. Went from a 300K pots and 0.022mF capacitor to 500K pots and 0.047mF capacitor. It's more bright, aggressive, raw and hotter than I would have guessed in the change. I knew it would change. Just surprised how much.
I had to change the settings on my amps to balance out the sounds.

I would not say it is better or worse...just different.

Just put one in my basswood RG. Sounds much better then when I had it in a mahogany LP.
Set the height on the heavier string side just right, and it gets really tight sounding.

The JB is one of Many Pickups that i've considered putting in my LP in place of the EMG's that are in there currently. I have also considered the SD Custom & The Suhr Aldrich.

I´ve always had a JB in at least one guitar, it is the industry standard for a reason.

500K Bourns volume pot, .001uF "brite cap", no tone control - 80's style.

Straight into '68 plexi circuit (my mods)... cranked. Dimed except bass on "1"

Tapped line out to DAW etc, G12-65 iRs.... EQ, verb, etc.

Since I changed the electronics last week I have been using my Fryette Deliverance 120, Sig X and Deliverance 4x12.

I have a THD Series One Plexi. It's a 69' Marshall Plexi 50 Watt JMP small box clone. Maybe I will get around to plugging in that stack this weekend.

I also installed a out of phase switch, two Seymour Duncan Triple Shot and P-Rail SHPR-1n in the neck when I changed the electronics last week.

So far I am really liking the versatility of this combination. After I use it for awhile I will probably write up something about my impressions.

JB has been my favorite pickup for decades. I put this pickup in this guitar in 2002. I changed out everything else last week.
I went from a three-way switch and 3 pickup combinations to 40 combinations. So it is going to take some time to become familiar with everything.
