Badass Billy the snake Blades "apparently" had one of these on his bench before butchering it up for a customer.

There was a small tweak to the otherwise stock circuit which i can only guess might be V1b dropped from 10k to 4.7k for more grind? Anyway, does anyone know how Shenker was getting that gain from his JMP's back during the UFO years? What type of pickups were loaded in his V's ? There seems to have been a bit of a gain jump from the earlier UFO to the later stuff. (before going to the 2205 channel switchers) Clearly a lot of it is in his hands but that Wah can't be adding much gain so I have to assume hot pickups and a stock 2204 circuit?

Actually a much more interesting topic than the VH beaten to death topic. Schenker's tone around 78 was awesome.

His pickup progression in the V's was:

T-Tops
Duncan JB
Duncan SH-5
Dimarzio Sig
Dean Lights Out (current)

The majority of it was the SH-5, but I'm not sure when it first appeared.

And of course the man couldn't live without his wah pedal. He uses it for tone variations only but damn that stuff is good.

The only time it was acceptable!

I get tired of wah overuse quickly but Mike always made it tasteful.

Thanks for the list, I had no idea he used a JB. I can see that for the grind..Duncan SH-5 had less gain than I thought when I had one. Probably on par with the 36 anni's I have in here now so I'll continue to tweak.

How about his amps? Straight up 2204's for the bulk of the stuff he did in the 70's and early MSG I assume?
