hey guys my charvel has a top mounted floyd. I find that i cant get the action as low as i like with the neck straight. i getting buzing at the 12 fret and lower. would a shim like half of a business card help i put it in the neck pocket closest to the head stock instead of closest to the body?

thanks, is one business card about right? or would you use two?

Start with one and tape it in place. If it's not enough add one.

Shimming on the headstock side will RAISE the action, not lower it. You sure you don't need a little more relief. Buzzing in the lower frets usually means not enough relief in the neck.

Reread the post. Sound like you might need some relief like Andy said.

Just to be sure. When you say "12 fret and lower" do you mean frets 1-12 or 12-22?
