Has anyone shipped any pedals recently to Canada ? I am curious what costs / hassles etc...are associated with it as I usually don't ship outside of the U.S.
Thanks!

I agree with beej. I recently bought a pedal from the USA.. pedal cost me $90, UPS brokrage fees cost me $40. USPS is easier on us Canucks..Canuck here. Fwiw, USPS is easier & less expensive for smaller items like pedals. There won't be any brokerage fees and there may not be any duties or taxes for the recipient (under a certain threshold ... in my experience they usually don't charge at all).
This. For pedals USPS because canada customs keeps their grubby hands off...most of the time depending on description.Canuck here. Fwiw, USPS is easier & less expensive for smaller items like pedals. Yes use USPS for smaller items to Canada. You don’t have to do anything extra except fill out a description and value when you are at the post office. “Used guitar pedal, $100”. Their online tools will give you a very accurate estimate of cost.
As a Canadian who has got burned before, don’t ever send UPS or FedEx to Canada for small things!! We get burned by extra brokerage fees and taxes that normally won’t happen for small items like pedals and pickups mailed through the post that usually sail through the border.
Most Canadian buyers here will know this and advise you before the sale to send USPS.
I live closer to the border now so I just signed up for a parcel service that lets me use a U.S. address where I can pick it up and bring it across the border myself. Very useful for amps and guitars etc….
