been hammered for 2 days now. lost my voice, hacking...restless

decided to pull my skb ps-100 pedal/rack rig out of the closet and slap some stuff together.

got one of those rivera rm-1 4 loop pedalboards/midi controller/4x 9vac power supply/amp switcher/tuner out/assignable volume control to reduce tap dancing. haven't figured out the midi thing on it yet to talk to my gforce which is set for a mono delay, but i think the rm-1 can only talk on omni or midi ch 1 and 2...rivera is blowing them out at $299. i always wanted one of those axxess 4 loop switchers but this seems even more perfect for me.


anyways it's gtr->rm-1 in->loop 1 = menatone JAC compressor->loop 2 = carl martin plexitone->loop 3 = arion chorus->loop 4 empty(maybe zendrive?)->rm-1 out to timeline delay->mojave peacemaker->speaker out to hotplate/avatar gh30 4x12->hotplate line out to gforce->gforce mono out to tech 21 power engine.

i can't explain how awesome it is to have the peacemaker back!
i was gettin pretty brown vh tone today even at low volumes set relatively clean...that plexitone is just a soul mate for the PM. but the size of it and the timeline is pushing the limits of pedalboard space. the timeline in front of the amp seem to be working to fatten things up, and allows me to loop ideas clean and then solo dirty tones over them.

will try the carol ann next, the zendrive addition, and maybe the space echo instead of the gforce.

Ditto. And its for this EXACT reason I can't "DO" a pedalboard. Not to mention, throw in the fact that sometimes there's either a stereo amp, or a 2 amp split, ya, the logistics were frightening.

Are you using the Power Engine as a SS power amp/speaker for a wet/dry rig? If so, that's a really cool idea. I may just steal that from you.

it is a lot more junk to plug in and haul around but tone is tone


the plexitone is the best match yet for the PM for my taste
the iPhone clip tonight won't display all of the magic of that combo but it will hint at what is possible at super low volume
As is treble and bass volumes at 1 and hotplate at -8

nope-but can be a little sterile under the microscope
the space echo sounds great through it though

and it doesn't hurt I replaced the stock speaker with a scumback

I plan to experiment with tube power/closed wet cab for tone variety but the 21 is so light and simple

remember this is with the amp's treble and bass volumes on 1 and the hotplate on -8. it only gets better as the volume increases.

timeline is on the whole time, last in the pedal chain before the amp. hotplate line out feeding gforce set for some delay and reverb. and gforce mono out feeds tech 21 power engine.

Very nice, Bro-chiato!

Sounds like there's not much liquid legato sauce, but the tone is fantastic.
Less gain definately gets closer to "Brown" than more gain.
I find it mind blowing that EVH could pull off the stuff with relatively low gain (by today's standards).

My Marshall is in the shop, so I'll be using the PM for Friday's gig.

I just don't like the Timefactor in front of the amp........... oh well. Maybe I'll bring a 1x12 combo and copy you - "Eh, haole. Gimme yo lonch munnie!"
