What are some sig. gear that have done REALLY well sales wise ?

it can be GOOD signature gear, as well as POS signature gear, as long as it's been a hit?

I was discussing this with a friend today.

the Eric Johnson Strat has been a hit
Almos anything EVH
Kirk Hammett ESPs

what else?

The Les Paul...

And like you said, Anything EVH endorses, especially after they stop making it.

les pauls seem to be the ones that really do well and increase in value quick,
jimmy page, pearly gates, slash, dicky betts, gary rossington, and duane allman have all went up in value,
the jimmy page murphy aged and signed number 1 did the best and i had the chance to buy one for 25k and skipped it and not long after those guitars was selling for 80 to 100k.

some esp models like the hetfield jh1/jh2/ and jh3 did really good and have doubled in price.

theres alot of sig models that sell pretty well but don't increase in value like the kirk hammett stuff and george lynch.

If you only would have known

But yea the "les paul" is most definitely the most successful sig guitar!

EBMM Petrucci models have been a huge boost to that company.

I would also say the Zakk Wylde stuff has been pretty successful. Maybe not the guitars but certainly his OD pedal and wah.

the ibanez jem ?

i think it's one of their best selling sig. guitar over the years, despite having a hole in it =)

it's been in production since 1987...time flies

it's probably too early but i'm thinking some of the PRS SE signature stuff probably goes down really well

The JEM has sold over 70,000 units and some rare models go for 10x what they were new and perhaps introduced more new factory options then any other guitar. Huge websites are dedicated to the JEM. It is one of the most easily recognized guitars in the guitar world and has been on several grammy award winning productions.

In 1987 it shook the rock world at NAMM and has been in production for 24 years.

Yeah the JEM has done ok for Ibanez.

I'm sure the Lynch guitar models didn't hurt ESP/LTD.

it seems anything zack wylde endorses with his sig seems to sell nicely, he probably sold a million epi les pauls and wah pedals alone. Also whenever hendrix's estate endorses something it sells good even though most of it is mediocre at best.

There's quite a few sig PRS's...there's been several Santana versions and I really like my David Grissom DGT model.

Carvin Legacy amps too.

Most of the Marshall signature heads/stacks were not that successful, like the 1959RR, 2203KK, JH100 were all available at almost half price one year after their introduction. Maybe the AFD and YJM will turn this trend around...

MusicMan EVH and its successor Axis have sold a shitload.

Eric Johnson Strat did and does very well, the Gilmour Strat sold out very quick, too.

john petrucci models, jems, carvin legacys, satriani guitars seem popular, jsx, the vox satriani pedals, 5150's, kirk hammet and james hetfield guitars, randy rhoads jacksons, i'm sure the dimarzio signature pickups like the evo, crunchlab and liqufire pickups, mojo's they seem to be around for a good while, dean ml's and the dimebag guitars which is definentley overkill now but dean is getting their money, well actually dimebag related now that i think about it, the apex series of 7 strings for korn, and i'd probably think the jeff loomis signature guitar, zakk wylde guitars, eric clapton and eric johnson strat's, evh guitars. that's what comes to mind at this point and yes i know i went quite deep but i'm a nerd i guess :D

Schecter guitars has seen a big boost of business due to their association with A7X.

Bugera Dingleberry.

Na, just kidding but I bet a shitload of kids would buy a Dingle sig Bugera.
