It will of course be something completely different than a pa amplifier. This will be the most complex build so far on my work bench! Three channels with separate gain, eq, volume, and voicing-switch. Two master volumes, tube buffered effects loop, mute-switch for the power amp. MIDI-switching for the three channels, the master volumes, the effects loop, the mute-switch and for a gainboost on channel two. All this functions will also be switchable via a standard ”Marshall footswitch”. Two EL34′s and two KT88′s in the power amp and of course some more switches and functions to shape the sound of the amp.

First of all, I took out all the old stuff in the amp.

I have added three preamp tubes to the preamp.

I will start to build up the powersupply.

And fit some point to point boards to build up the amp on.

When I’m finished with the drilling it will be at least twenty new holes in the front panel :D

Just a few hours of work left until it’s time to put in the tubes and start it up for the first time!

Have you fired it up yet?
Can't wait to know your first impression.

I found out that one switch on the MIDI-PCB was broken so I have been tearing my hair out since I woke up today to resolve the problem, after hours of thinking and reading datasheets I found out a solution! The transistor pulldown IC had two unused outputs so I cut some tracks on the MIDI-PCB and wired some new cables and change half of the switching circuit (because the old one drew to much current) and now it's working!

I have only played your amp whisper quiet since it's in the middle of the night but it sounds impressive so far! Super tight with growling mids and great bass response.
