Just dug out the mic's, they seem to capture the amps better then using impulses. What you guys think? Oh, and no boost!!!

Powerball....

Savage....

And a pic of mic placement if anyone was interested....

I liked the Savage better but could be happy with either one, they both sound great

Thanks for taking the time.

The PB is a little more stuffy sounding, but still sounds great! The Savage sounds awesome!

kickass KZ, thanks for the clips. Gotta agree with everyone, both sound great, but something about that Savage just sounds mean as hell. Real clear and aggressive!

Definitely liked the Savage clip better. The cutting/aggressive mid tone puts it over the edge.

Thanks guys!! These clips don't do the amps justice whatsoever!!! After I got got the savage dialed in...holy shit!!! Never before have I been happier with gear before. I still have to play with mic positions and settings, it's been awhile. Both are extremely awesome!!

I think they both sound killer and Id be happy with either but I'm in the same camp is everyone else I guess..... The nod goes to the Savage!!!

Good job man. I really like the Savage, thanks for letting me compare it to the Invader.

I guess I'm against popular opinion on this one. I find the Savage mids in this clip overbearing and not enough bottom end mixed. I also don't hear enough mids with the PB.........good stuff though as usual.... :)

After listening to this again on another pc here at work, I'm going to have to say that this really depends on what PC/speker setup you are listening to the clips on. The PB clips sounds better then the savage on the second PC

I think they both have solid merits. I personally prefer the Savage, though. I owned a Powerball for a few months and it really lacked for me personally.

I've kinda gone off the ENGL sound altogether, tbh. Still, and cheers.

i am gonna be honest, that powerball track could have been recorded with my old ampeg vh140

the savage is awesome man, so much gas!

Thanks fellas. Nothing compares to hearing them in person! If I had to pick, it would be savage, the Pb is no slouch though. The savages saturation is better sounding and the something about the hugeness about the amp i cant put my finger on. I can get the Pb to sound better, it will just take some time. :D

first off, nice setup and thanks for taking the time to do those double-track recordings

secondly, that savage is ungodly

I had the Powerball and Savage at the same time I thought the Powerball was awesome and that I would never get rid of it until I played it side by side with the Savage and I was in a position to were I had to choose. In the end it just came down to the Savage being the bigger and clearer sounding amp of the two at least for me that is.

Both are great amps I wish I could have afforded to keep both

Congratulations Killzone on a very nice setup
