Just wondering what people are into ?
I tend to like Humbuckers more .... but been on a Single Coils lately...

Always been into single coils, but humbuckers have their place and I am currently trying to love one in the bridge of a strat (see avatar). If I had to choose one or the other for the rest of my life, it would be single coils. Tele's and P-90's just sound and feel right to me.

I like both equally, but I generally need a humbucker in the bridge for the style of music I play. Hard to play death metal with a single coil in the bridge, after all. For the neck, if I get a single coil, I prefer it to be on the higher output side of things.

Had to choose both.

Humbucking bridge all day but i do like me a single coil neck and middle

I like and use both, but these days I really find myself gravitating toward single coils. Their dynamics and touch sensitivity are simply unmatched by humbuckers. For recording/tracking, they cut through a mix much better as well IMO, even for heavy music.
I'm glad I have both, but if I could only have one type it would singles.

Depends on what I'm playing/what sound I'm going for, but I tend to use humbucker-equipped guitars a lot more often when playing live, and I tend to lean towards lower output pickups for the most part when I'm recording. The two guitars I reach for most often when tracking are strats, one loaded with Red/Silver/Blue Lace Sensors and another loaded with Kinman Woodstocks. They sound and feel much more dynamic to me, but are also much less forgiving.

Stacked humbuckers in most of my Stratocasters. ;)

So, I guess I lean toward humbuckers. I can't stand real single coils in the bridge position for what I do.

But, they do sound good in a Telecaster.

Been using humbuckers longer than singles, and for heavier stuff prefer them. When I think of clean tones, I tend to go for a single-- unless it's a jazzy clean tone I want.

A tele thru a compressor and Dr. Z is a completely different experience, than an LP thru a Marshall, so it depends on the job to be done, to which guitar feels right.

Lately it has been the LP thru the DSL experimenting with preamp tubes. But the tele and fender cleans will call....

Humbucker in the bridge and a single coil in the neck. No middle pick up atr all gets in the way.

+1 - For me, this is the best setup and really is the best option for versitility. I prefer the bridge hummer for for heavy/lead tones, and LOVE the single coils for clean or slightly overdriven for blues or mellower stuff. Or - crank up the gain/volume and let the neck single-coil rip some leads high on the neck. Awesome!

Stacked single coils for me. I hate 60 cycle hum, and standard humbuckers are a bit too dark for me.

Humbuckers in the bridge (RG's and LP's). A split humbucker in the neck (LP) and a single coil in the neck (RG) for clean stuff.

Definitely prefer humbuckers for everything but clean-ish tones...

i use them both. depends on what i need. i do tend to lean towards paf's for humbuckers though.
