Another band like Pantera that fucked themselves.

Subhuman Race was on the right track, so was Reinventing the Steal, before their implosions.

Not a fan of Bach's politics, but the band is a joke without him; so is Phil

As they say - Never meet your heroes. I would suspect that most of the people we look up to are not guys that we would enjoy hanging out with ha. But he could sing his ass off then and the band was on fire. I think the second record was too heavy - they could have extended their run a a bit longer with a more mainstream record like the first one. Kinda odd they went in that direction to me. Their management had to want another record like the first one....

I would never take away from his talent back then but if you go back & watch old interviews he was a dork with long hair & a great voice. Now he's just a dork playing old folks casinos on Halloween.
 
I watched those the other day as well.. so much energy and Bach's voice is the main driver. Guy was incredible. Agree that now he's a burn out and a bit of a dork who almost doesn't realize that he's over 60 and nobody would recognize him anymore if he walked into a bar.

I'm the opposite.

Slave to the Grind is a great album. My favorite. The debut album was what 1989? It was soon after that the 80s hair bands where on their way out. Skid Row squeaked in IMO. So Slave was a perfect departure from that. Great timing. Not sure another mainstream album would have done as well. Subhuman Race was good too. Lost interest after that.
