Ohhhhhhh.....it is SOO KILLER! Mine sounds just like that clip that Dave has. Very aggressive Marshall tone!!

I got 6 modules that Dave modded. Sold a couple off lately since his HBE is covers so much ground. VERY Great EVH tone!

Have you compared it to the Brown Eye? Is the HBE basically just the BE+more gain?

I had both of them. I liked the Brown eye......but LOVED the HBE! Much more than the Brown eye plush gain. To me it was voiced differently. I preffered Dave's Brahma Mod over the Brown eye so I sent it back to Dave to have him mod it into his famous Brahma mod. That tone is 80's hair metal to the LETTER!!!Bronco":1tt6dzhr said:

Mailman, as always thanks for the insight...so would it be worth it to have both? Seems like the HBE covers the Brown Eye and more, no?

I like the way the Hairy Brown eye does..."BROWN SOUND" better than the Brown eye did. And I like the Brahma Mod to cover all the Hair metal tunes better than the Brown eye. I was doing some serious A/B before I made my final desicion to trade out the Brown eye for the Brahma mod but its all up to the listener. I freaking LOVE that HBE and the Brahma together in my RM100. The Brown eye just had a tad too much gain for what I wanted it to do but the Brahma fit my needs perfect. Its all up to the individual I suppose. But like I mentioned.....anything that rolls off Dave's Bench is TOP NOTCH! I am just trying to limit the modules I have. But for me the Hairy Brown just KILLS most everything else I have heard or owned. Does All EVH album tones with minor tweaking. Its just a beast of Marshall tone!Bronco":1jdbg87z said:

Thanks for posting that thread. It sounds like my place every weekend. But I am the only guitarist and My bass player and drummer(good friends of mine) have to "suffer" while I go thru all my testing of amps. But over the past year we weeded out all the other amps while I was going back and forth with Egnater amps, Randall Lynch boxes, etc..But finally came to the conclusion that the MTS is where its at. All my modules are modded and I upgraded my Output tranny and choke(Mercury Magnets) and it sounds soooooo GOOD! I liked the description of the HBE being compared to the EG5. That is about accurate but I love the voice of the HBE better. Overall such a great tone and can be used on anything from Old school Kiss to Testament and not even BLINK AN EYE!yngzaklynch":33axqrsu said:

Somebody else praised the Dave modded Brahma to. Prolly worth a try. Besides if you don't like it I'm SURE you can find a buyer... close by... that you already know... that likes George Lynch's tone and playing.
