Went and saw the Death Angel, Anthrax, Slayer show Thursday night and overall thought it was fucking great

Death Angel was decent, but something was off with the mixing or something. Could barely make out the vocals and the guitar parts were kinda muddled together. Maybe sounded like the sound guys at the board just had things too loud to the point that detail was lost. The band themselves were spot on and fun as hell to watch.

Holy fucking shit Anthrax was sick  Wasn't expecting them to sound that good and bring it with as much energy as they did. I'd say they stole the show that night  Everything came through very clear and detailed sounding. Scott's playing was TIGHT as hell, his tone was absolutely phenomenal

And as for Slayer, well they're just a fucking machine live. The set list was awesome; so many great songs. Here's just a few: Angel of Death (and Tommy nailed the opening scream on that one  ), Mandatory Suicide, Dead Skin Mask, Reign In Blood, South of Heaven, Hell Awaits, War Ensemble, Hate world Wide, Postmortem, Seasons in the Abyss. God damn their guitar rigs move massive amounts of air! You could feel the percussion of every palm mute like a fucking wall of sound.

 in peace Jeff!
Hope your tearing it the fuck up in the afterlife brother

missed them a little while back.....still sick about it....

That's an awesome line up. Just looked and they were in Orlando in late September.

I know that feeling man. They'll be back.

Yes sir. Knew the lyrics to a few Death Angel songs, quite a few Anthrax, but yeah as for Slayer, I know most all their lyrics and kill it they did.

Hate when that happens;Catch them on the next go around man.

I saw Death Angel a few years ago at Reggie's in Chicago on "The Dream" tour and they fucking destroyed. Reggie's has amazing sound and they had them dialed in. KILLER live band. Oh yeah, Revocation opened and they were also sick.

×1000...Especially Slayer in the old days. Used to go see them religiously every time they came through in the 80's and early 90's. They were larger than life and the meanest live show in metal. :worship: They STILL kill live.

Nice!
Revocation is amazing too  Love those guys.

Slayer is indeed loud but their sound is so even and controlled from guitars to drums to vocals. The most obnoxiously loud band I have seen to date has been Lamb of God this past summer at Red Rocks. It was the loudest but not in a good way. I suffered some definite hearing damage on that one.

Motorhead is the second loudest band I've seen.

Ministry at House of Blues in Chicago years ago was probably the loudest show I've ever seen. Sounded good, but too fucking loud!

He's using a Kemper on this run too, not his signature Randall head.

I was suprised with the Kemper...saw them in NYC in September at the small club shows they did. Was all thinking it was his Randall. Walked up after the set...saw the Kemper and no Randall. Sounded fantastic!

Lancaster definitely has some interesting town names!!! It's home!

Cool. Pretty sure Gary is using a Kemper on tour with Slayer as well.

Pretty country for sure. Lived in PA 27 years before heading West. Be back there to visit over Christmas and can't wait.
