Saw the way this works first hand when Dave left the first time. I worked with Paul Bostaph getting the gig and they treated him like crap for 10 years. They played games with John Dette and finally convinced Dave to rejoin. Now he's gone. Rule #1 of Slayer Club.... don't ask where the money's going. Kerry and Rick don't like it! Dette's with Anthrax now, Paul has several projects going and just finished recording with Geoff Tate. So who's gonna sit behind the kit now?

Seriously...the only thing good about Slayer anymore is Lombardo. I was actually interested in the concept of Gary Holt taking over for Jeff Hannemann on a more permanent basis. I have never been a fan of Kerry King and this only intensifies that opinion.
 
Is it possible that Kerry King might be a bigger idiot than to which Lars Ulrich is an egomaniac ? I say yes !

Here's the only way to make a killer 2013 Slayer album :
Fire Kerry
Fire "engineer" Greg Fiddlefuck
Fire Rick Rubin
Hire a more worthy current metal producer, ala Andy Sneap or Colin Richardson
Have Jeff Hanneman write all the songs
Retain Gary Holt and Pat O'brien as recording/touring musicians and they can write their own leads
Tom and Dave stay put
Force KK to tattoo "I'm a moron" backwards across his forehead to remind him everytime he looks in the mirror.

I liked Bostaph best.

The opening of Divine Intervention was Epic.

Slayer is old to me, they haven't been making music I enjoy for several years.

This is big news but I could care less who their drumemr is, they should have picked up Talley.

I wonder why KK is such a dickhead ? Damn man , Lombardo is the best drummer in the world ( IMO) and they are just firing him ? Totally useless.
 
Never been of fan of King or Henneman's attitudes, not that I should care at all...
Why weren't they jamming with the rest of the Big 4 on that tour?
 
I thought Kerry King worked with those EVH amps and guitars?
 
Well, to me if Tom was part of Hiring an audit firm, something is rotten in the kitchen, and the one who is causing a tantrum is probably behind it. :thumbsdown:
 
I've never liked Slayer...some of the worst guitar playing ever committed to tape, not to mention absolute garbage production. They suck, they've always sucked, and they'll continue to suck...talentless hacks.

I hung out with Tom once though and he's a cool dude :lol: :LOL:

Gary totally killed it on mayhem with slayer, they sounded better than ever before. Losing Lombardo is a stupid move, kicking him out because he wanted his fair share? Disgusting.

yeah thats pretty shady and fucked up. if he's truly getting ripped off, they might have to pay him a bucket of money back... kerry hasnt made anything good since devine('94)
 
RR, i agree with that .....but, a lot of these guys hit "hip" status among the pop crowd for whatever reasons, and the cash cow starts leaking milk out of the teats. there's always a "gene" and "paul" in every band....if you know what i mean.

it's a shame....i follow lombardo on twitter and he seems to be the least "cash cow" minded of those guys....down to earth so to speak.
