SLO-100, SIG-X, Budda SD-45, EVH 5150 III, Einstein

I would go with the Einstein. I tried a SLO and a Budda SD18( I think thats the model) this weekend. These 2 sound great, but just not my cup of tea. I have never tried the Sig-x or a 5150III. I do like the clips of the 5150III and with the exception of the Deliverence all other VHTs I don't care for.

I like Diezels the best, but if you decide on the SLO, you'd be insane not to buy the SLO I'm selling for my friend. It's a much better deal than buying a discounted one on MF - and the lifetime warranty is transferable

If you are interested in the EVH, I could hook you up with a dealer that would sell a new one at about 10% above cost plus shipping. PM for info.

I really liked the EVHIII with the matching cab. Without the matching cab not so much.

Einstein freaking rocks no matter how you slice it.

The others I haven't tried yet.

Guitar Center in Nashville had an Einstein head. You could get a GC card I guess and buy it that way.

Interesting.

I just gladly paid $500 more to get a new in box VH4 than to buy one that had sat on the floor at a GC. The though of buying a GC floor model without seeing/playing it first scares me.

you say you like slo's-buy the one for sale on here. The mods on it sound interesting.

Yup. Im the same way. I dont see that store as a dealer either.

You can email Peter if you wish..... but it's true some GC's are dealers. The Nashville GC is a dealer. Ive seen many Diezels in there. BTW the Nashville GC isn like alot of ones Ive been in in other cities. The high end stuff that goes through there is unreal. Also they tend to keep that stuffi nthe room that you have to be let into so its not a bunch kids in there messing with it.

Just posting my experience.

What about Voodoo Amps something, like a v-rock, or a Hex/Witchdoctor?

naaa, i liked the Splawn Nitro clips Ive heard though.

well ok, but have you ever tried one?

Out of those there are two where I not only dig the gain but the clean with a pedal thing...which are the Sig X and Einstein.
So...if it only were for gain it'd be between the SLO and the Sig, for clean and gain and usable with pedal Sig and Einstein.

Einstein, no doubt about it. I've said it before, I think the Einstein is the best high gain amp i've ever played.

I heard some pedals into the Einstein clean that sounded very good. Reminded me of how the Guytron clean absorbed any pedal stuck in front of it.
I played an Einstein for a gig last year with a Psionic 3.14 (essentially a Big Muff Pi sonding Fuzz) in front and really loved the gain sound.

How much does a Einstien go for used right now? Just curious.
