Picking up a Mark IV locally. Kicking around getting a 2x12 to run it through at home as all I have now is a crappy Jet City 1x12. I have a Splawn 4x12 I leave at our rehearsal spot and a Bogner 4x12 with V30s that stays on our trailer for shows.
My thinking is that the Mark will work best with the Bogner loaded with the V30s, but having never owned a Mark I am anticipating needing some time at home to get acquainted before I even think about gigging with it.
Looking for ideas for a good, but not too expensive 2x12 that i can dial in the amp and have it translate pretty close when I then use it with the Bogner 4x12.
Anything V30 loaded? Or something specific?

BTW, the Mark IV appears to be a IVb but has the attached power chord and no Reverb switch on the FU-3. SN is high 8000s so I am guessing mid to late 90s? I'll probably email Mesa to confirm. It's really clean and I got a good deal. Haven't even powered it up yet, hopefully tonight.

All cabs are different. Even the same cabs with the same speakers can sound different. PLay the IV on the Bogner when you can and tweak it. Remember the presence in or out makes a HUGE difference with the IV. I run it with presence pushed in and set to zero pretty much.

I would recommend at least one bassier speaker to go with a V30 in a 2x12, as the Mark IV can be...well not bass-light, but it sure ain't no Diezel.
I had to typically run the 80Hz slider almost at the top at home, bedroom volumes in a 2x12.

I have a Mark IVb from 2008. So it's basically 9 years that I'm playing it and I can say with confidence that the best portable cab I've paired it with is the CAA 1x12 loaded with a celestion century vintage. Light, portable, the dimension is perfect and the small head sits on it just perfect.

the CAA cube is basically a bogner cube so if you can snag one for a good price just DO IT. You will thank me later ;)

Get a Mesa Widebody 1x12. Sounds as good as any 2x12 I've heard.

When I had a MKIVb I used an Orange 1x12 with the V30 and it sounded great. Very full and powerful but still easy to move both around. Great little rig to drop a mic infront of...

This! ^^^^^

I also used a old Mesa 1x12 with a EV in it for home use with my Mark IV. It did the job. Never played it at "live" volumes.

I had a Mesa Thiele cab I regret selling. Danyeo nailed it with every individual speaker and cab has it own properties and sound.
