I just learned about a little local maker called Hovercraft amps. Big amps, little amps, they seem to specialize in Matamp/Orange/Sunn sort of tones, but a couple cross over to others. Some neat tones, and pretty cheap too. I'm not sure what the entire business model is, maybe some parts salvaging?

Just saying to check them out.

Cool. Really been on a Disfear kick lately. These amps would kill for that and not break the bank.

Well I was looking at the site. The Goliath mini heads are jet city pico valves!

Not recycled but seems like modded amps in new trim. Pretty shady since there is no explanation of the " recycled" amps statement on their site.

I'm pretty sure if anyone reached out they would tell what amp it started as and what they did to it. At least I hope they would.

Their home Page clearly lists them as "Recycled Tube Amps." I don't think they're trying to dupe anyone.

I read the page as taking other amps and turning them into something else. Not being sold for boutique prices. No picovalve sounds like that Goliath either. I've chatted with the cat running the show and he seems pretty straight ahead, knowledgeable, and easy to deal with. I asked about a 2ch dwarvenaut with marshall tones and he said no problem, they take each order as they come, no deposit needed, just an email when it's ready.

I am not affiliated in any way. I was turned onto Hovercraft through Catalinbread's recommendation. I know Catalinbread is on the up and up. Is this business model different from other guys specializing in modded amps?
