SmallBox solo boost?

I am a brand new smallbox owner who has been spoiled from years of amps with a built in solo boost to change master volume when soloing. What do you folks use to for this function? I run a couple dirt pedals before the amp for a couple flavors of gain boost. I was thinking maybe an EP booster in the effects loop might be good for solo boost? Talk to me.
 
I use the EP Booster up front on all the time
Micro amp in the loop for a solo boost.
 
I'm using a MXR 10 Band EQ in the loop for years now regardless which amp.
Perfect results.
Depending on the venue but most of the time I push the midrange a bit to make singlenotes bigger and cut through the mix...
It's the perfect solution for a great solo because you're able to tailor your sound.
 
Boost in the FX loop or have the amp MODed for a second master
 
Any of the Klone Klons with the gain turned down ;)

Koko Boosts work perfect as well, currently I use a "Minotaur" from "Velvet Pedals" (also a very good Klon Klone).
 
Is there anyone using an Analogman KOT to boost Smallbox? It should be an excellent option, since you can adjust one side of the pedal to boost the Plexi channel and the other to boost BE...
 
I just got a small box combo. I've been using a Klon kst for a boost. It feels like natural extension of he amp just makes everything bigger and juicier. It's versatile to because you can turn the drive up to 9 o'clock and hit the plexi ch for a bit more grits. Need to get another koko boost reloaded to try with it.
 
That was the only thing the Smallbox misses.... The solo option.
I don't like anymore to use pedals.
 
Suhr koko boost (clean boost mode) in the loop is great. I´ve been using a Timeline +3dB boost as well.
 
I really don't want to deal with the extra cables when inserting a boost in the loop. Even though it's not quite as effective as having a boost in the loop, I use the TC Spark Booster in front of the amp, and I'm actually surprised at how well it works. Normally a boost in front of a gained up amp does nothing for volume, but the Spark Booster gives it a nice little kick in the ass. Not a huge volume boost. but enough to push in front of the band for my purposes.
 
I got a volume pedal with switch from Saturn (http://saturnworkspedals.com/product/volume/). I run this in my loop before delay. Basically it cuts the volume when engaged. Personally, I like this more than boosting as that always seems to add some color. Bryan recommended a 100k pot for this purpose and I had him wire the led so that it's on when the pedal is off ... in other words led on = louder. I stomp on this all night, so ended up getting the MXR size instead of the mini. Very happy with this simple approach.

It will give you a volume boost and a little increase on gain and compression as well. Problem solved for the future owners! Cheers!

Yea, I have J Rockett Archer Ikon and a Suhr Koko Boost Reloaded and both are great - either in the loop or in front, or set specifically to one channel or the other - really good stuff. I like the Koko Boost into the Ikon on the plexi channel for a fat, smooth lower gain tone....
 
I`ve never placed an OD/Boost in the loop , always had it up front and I`ve tried a BB Preamp and TC Electronic Spark Boost with my SB. They work good , I`ve got them set as a clean boost just to add a little saturation and tighten the low end . What would placing them in the loop do tone wise? All I`ve got in the loop is a Carbon Copy delay
 
Not sure , but if it is a clean boost , in the loop should just give you a volume boost .

I think I`m gonna leave them up front for now , this sucker is so loud I really don`t need a volume boost even if it is just for leads. I just got a Timmy in the mail so I`m gonna give that a whirl thru the BE when can get some alone time at the house. Carl Martin should be releasing the Plexitone Lo Gain anyday now. I`m really wanting to try that one as semi boost/overdrive thru the plexi channel
 
I have been using the TC Spark mini as a solo boost in my effects loop to great effect since getting it in December. I had a gig Saturday where after the second song my effects loop or some cabling in it had a problem and made my sound go dead. So I unplugged the loop which took the Spark out of the equation. I then just went for it with just the Tumnus (which is in front of the amp) and 2 channels. Out of need, I set my BE channel master to be louder (like a solo boost) and turned up my gain on my Tumnus higher than usual and used it as my dirtier rhythm channel. Turns out, I really liked the sound of the Plexi Channel with the Tumnus pushing it harder than usual and might switch up to using my rig that way all the time. This also allows me to set the Spark to give me "even more" solo volume than the BE/solo channel on demand, on the fly if I really have a part that needs to cut through everything. I will report more after some rehearsals using my rig like this.
 
I'm using a H9 Eventide on loop, each preset has a different volume...

I planned to use a Joyo PXL-Live as channel switcher and H9 preset changer (via midi)
