snakeskin amp head good or bad idea?

I am looking to buy a splawn quickrod soon and i'm trying to decide between an amp like this
and a snakeskin one... any suggestions against or for snakeskin?

I really dig snakeskin and burgundy snakeskin tolex on amp heads, which is why I offer both on my amp. For the white/black snakeskin vs. all white, I'd say:

PROS: Will definitely stay cleaner looking than all white, plus it just looks bitchen!
CONS: Might be more difficult to re-sell, because the snakeskin tolex will be more polarizing than plain white.

I had a bright white tolex Splawn Quick Rod that got dirtylooking just looking at it wrong...it "faded" or creamed out a bit, so if you like that look, I'd say go with that...they also offer a "vintage" white that I'm not sure what color that will turn into. I think the snakeskin is cool, but I think most people would say it looks too 80s...but I suppose if you're buying a QR you probably like the 80s (like I do).
 
Go with the white. If you ever decide to sell, the snakeskin will kill resale value.
 
if you are going snakeskin I like the mojotone black, its a subtle texture ,but yeah it can turn folks off
 
I've got snakeskin cabs... so I'm biased! lol :lol: :LOL:

I CAN'T WAIT to get my HR50+ Snaked up to match the cabs for all that snakey/cheesy/goodness...

BUT Honestly in your case... get the white.... better resale, and the snake isn't as known coupled with the Splawnage...

Snake won't fuck up my resale, could fuck up yours...

Edit, I wear white Snakeskin boots onstage still... so I can't be trusted!--------- :no: :lol: :LOL: :D

i'd get a plain colour for resale reasons , snakeskin is a matter of taste and is definitely not for everyone

if you're 100% sure you'll keep the amp forever and ever =0 get whatever you want,
 
If you are set on it, nevermind this resale value bullshit. The gear flipping mentality around here is just abhorrent. Some of us would like to own our gear longer than a few months.
 
go snakeskin . I had one and still think it was the best looking head around . I still have the snake cab that matched it . As far as resale it may take a little longer t sell but it won't hurt the value , had no problem selling mine . Splawns are easy to sell anyway .
 
Hey Man, Go with white they look killer :rock: I have no issues with fading or anything...
 
Snakeskin would look great on that head, I say go for it if it's what you want. However, I'm not too sure about resale value on Splawns, but if snakeskin is what you desire, I say it'd look sexy! :rock:
 
Can you guys post up some pictures of your snakeskin wrapped heads? I'm wondering what knobs, faceplate, and pinstripe colors would look good with it. I've never owned anything that was snakeskin.

Also, I'm on the fence between the "plexi" style head shell or "jcm800" style... :no: :confused:

Bro go for it as long as u have underwear to match n a 4x12 your golden! Anything is better than those tacky black Marshall look alike head shells. !
