incredibly I´ve never played a TS9 (shame on me) but I have a BB preamp... is the BB a ts9 like pedal or not?

how about the BB vs OCD?

The BB is about as far away tonally as you can get from a TS9. TS9's are very flat and squashed sounding with a sharp mid spike. They work excellent through certain amps as boosts and through Fenderish clean channels for some SRV breakup.

The BB is a different animal altogether. Silky and smooth for leads, MUCH more organic sounding and can be used as an alternate crunch/lead channel with your amp's clean channel. It also works well as a boost, but it has a different character than the Tubescreamers. It's juicier and more amp like. Compressed and smooth.

The OCD is also nothing like a TS. It's also much more amp-like and less compressed than the BB or the TS9. The OCD excels at providing low to mid crunch sounds through your amp's clean channel. It's also works well as a boost with some amps, but with certain amps it is too hard and stiff sounding as a boost.

You may want to check out an 808 TS type pedal if you're after a screamer. IMO they're far superior in every area, but everone's tastes are different so try em both if you can:)

I use a Maxon OD9 as well as a BB. I feel the BB is a much hotter pedal with more gain on tap (however I don't use the gain in either). The OD9 feels smoother. I use the Maxon for boosting rhythm and the BB for boosting leads.

I love my BB... sounds great through a clean amp and great as a boost.
