Looks like its going for $1199 at the Carvin online store now instead of the $1499.

wow, would of sucked to have bought it at original price. I am sure there were a few people complaining about that. They seem to do that alot with their amps, lower their prices, which in some ways is fine, but in other ways, what you just bought lost value..

What they did makes no sense. If they we're going to make a Legacy II they should have added a channel or revioced the 2 channels the Legacy I has.

Are you looking at the right page???

The Legacy II has 3 channels. the chassis is like an inch taller. It's a totally different amp, designed by Fargen, too.

I watched a video of Vai talking about the amp. From what I gathered all they did was give the clean a crunch mode. If I'm wrong... God I hope I'm wrong. From the video I saw way back when NAMM was going on it didn't seem all that impressive of a change.

I will say that I like pretty much every Legacy vid I've seen. But from what Via described... didn't seem like anything a boost pedal couldn't do.

I keep meaning to cruise down to the factory with my DC727 and plug into the LII and the X100Bri. I've been interested in both those amps but I've just been busy.... :aww:

I was in Hollywood to test drive the Mark V at Mesa Hollywood and completely forgot about the Legacy II, Carvin was like right next door too

Ya, it seemed like a pointless upgrade to me. A 3 channel amp with 2 clean channels, one with a boost? I'll pass.

Well....there has been much talk over on the Carvin boards about this head. I will drive down one of these days to Carvin and check it out, but I don't think I will be selling my Legacy to get a II.

I just watched the vid and it sounds pretty good to me. Sounds similar to the Legacy that I had.
