Very cool Scotty. I'm getting my SLP/Metro back from Mike in a couple of weeks or so. I've never been so anxious to get an amp before..... I'm going freakin nuts over here!

I'm not really sure.

gut shots?

:D

To be honest I think if I asked he would have pulled out a screw driver, there really is not much there

Can you be a little more descriptive of how the amp sounded and what features it had, vague boy?

Just filtering Curt, no extra knobs, no extra tubes, plain looking small box 50 watter. Guy saw Jose install it in his shop and called it the EVH mod.

Everything dimed it was VH II through Fair Warning using a superstrat with EVH pup and a cable. Would have loved to have you and Steve there to check this bad boy out.

Great day indeed, Scotty. You're far too kind; I need to get my chops back together. I got all the drum heads I needed as well. Thanks for the hospitality, and the laughs, and dinner ;)

On that note, that Jose mod sounded killer, but the owner seemed equally blown away by the Cali ;) That is simply a testament to Mike's work. If you buy a Fortin, you're getting your money's worth. Since day one, I had high hopes for his amplifiers, and I have yet to be let down

There's about a handful component changes inside the Jose. Like Scott said, the owner said he'd pop the hood; we didn't find the need to ask, and don't play on the bit about reverse psychology. All knobs on ten... he just SLID his hand across the fucking amp from left to right   I played through the amp, and something pretty amazing is going on. I wish I had the finesse of the owner, because he made that thing shine. If you're sloppy, you are going to sound really awful through that amp

I also played the production Natas today

No high gain amp stands next to the Natas for metal, all hype aside... holy shit.

stupid question ....

how is the clean channel on the natas, or is there anything close to a clean setting for that amp ??

thats the only amp im actualy interested in right now, everything else just seems sorta blah to me

Ed's amp was not modded... It had replacement transformers and caps - that's it. If you want to call that a mod - then yes. For VH II he used a PPIMV in the amp, then put it back to stock.

I guess it's settled then, the chase is finally over!
Correct. Less ebay - more Mel Bay... ;)

There is a high headroom clean channel that is super sparkly, and can do Texas blues if you crank the gain.

It is a dedicated clean, and it sounds fantastic.
