so is the Laney AOR Pro Tube series like a JCM 800?

isn't that kinda the sound/style that the amp was modeled after?

can it do the death metal with a boost? Can it do the thrash/early death metal without a boost?
 
They can be modded to a Jcm800 very easy. In fact My buddy left his here it is one of the white annv. ones. He sent me mod and it's just a little more than a couple of resister values have to be change. How close it will sound after this, I don't know yet. Waiting for him to give me the ok.
 
I've never actually played a JCM 800

But how does the Laney handle what I listed in my first post?
 
The Laney's have more gain than stock JCM800's, but you will still need to use a boost of some sort to get the tone you're looking for imho.
