the mono input of my cab in our rehearsal room seems not to work anymore and herbi ran with no load, but seems like nothing happened to the amp, tried it on another cab and everything was perfect. due to the fact that i normally don't play over that cab i cannot say if the sound changed...but if everything still works it could only be that the tubes "aged" a little faster now, isn't it?

the weird thing is: going from an amp with 2 cables in both inputs it works fine. using 1 cable, swtiched to mono = no sound.

second problem: so there is this 8ohm mono-input on my current cab (randall ra412...yeah, i know. but it will be replaced, i swear to god/diezel) which does not work anymore...and the same input is for the right side of the 4 ohm stereo input. i am a little bit confused right now because i got 2x 4 ohm for stereo but wouldnt this make a total impendance of 2ohm? :confused:

if so: no possibility to connect it to herbi, right? only 1x 4ohm or 1x8ohm or 2x8ohm or 1x 16 ohm or 2x 16ohm.

and finally: can i replace the input-plate on the cab with THIS one? i know that the impendances stated on the plate would not be correct, but could i just replace the plate and then using again the right input as 8ohm mono?

any help/infos (beside "set the crappy chinarandall on fire and go buy a REAL cab" - because this is my plan later that year) is appreciated!

Sorry, no real help - I know...I can't figure out your problem as it is though...maybe in german?
 
for the germans:

bei der box hab ich hinten entweder 1x 8ohm mono (wenn der schalter auf mono ist) oder 2x 4 ohm stereo (wenn schalter auf stereo). das problem ist wenn der schalter auf mono ist und ich das ganze also mit 8 ohm mono betreiben will kommt kein ton raus (und deshalb fürchte ich dass herbert kurz ohne last gelaufen ist). interessanterweise funkt alles wenn ich auf stereo schalte und mit 2 speaker-kabel in beide buchsen, also 2x 4 ohm, geh (hab ich mit dem alten valvestate probiert).

aber wenn ich die 2x4 ohm SO verwende, hab ich dann nicht 2ohm statt 8ohm gesamtimpendanz? :confused:
 
Ich glaub eher das es an Deiner Box liegt...hast Du die 8 Mono mit einem anderen Amp auch probiert?
 
sorry, hab mich schlampig ausgedrückt - es liegt NATÜRLICH an der box. mir gings periphär auch darum ob beim herbert was sein kann da er ja anscheinend kurz ohne last lief (hat an der anderen box aber normal geklungen) - hab jetzt nur weiterführend gleich gefragt ob jemand weiss was es mit dem boxenanshcluss auf sich haben kann..
 
Das macht dem Herbert normalerweise nichts aus, aber man muß es nicht übertreiben.

Du kannst zB zwischen Boxen wechseln wenn der Amp an ist, aber das Volume der Gitarre sollte auf 0 sein und Du solltest zu spielen aufhören.

This is why two 4 ohm loads makes a total load of 8, just half the values on the diagram. On your jack plate the wire at the bottom of the diagram is done on the input jack to bridge the two outputs, you probably just need a new jack, not the whole plate, if the jack looks ok and the wires leading from the jack have good solder connections, then think about replacing the whole plate.
