I always loved that riff and tone too but I prefer Zakk in this era. Youtube mucks up the tone but you get the idea. Loud, raw Marshall.

Played on this of course.

Wasnt he playing Ampegs on the No More Tears Album?

One of my favorite tones from him as well.

I don't know but when he rolls the volume knob down for the first part of the verse on Tinkertrain the clean tone kills too.

yeah, lee jackson amps. I have an ad picture somewhere of it.

I love Zakk, BUT, like Hammett and the wah, someone NEEDS to take that damned Chorus pedal away from him, and make him chill on the harmonics....

But the dude can play, I still LOVE his playing on No Rest for the Wicked, he was just on fire on that cd.

He only used the metaltronix on tour

He recorded No Rest For the Wicked with Lee jackson modded JCM800's with an added preamp tube and an effects loop..
DS1 distortion pedal, Octave pedal, Vox Wah through a Mosfet amp and 4 cabinets with Vintage 30's

No More tears was a mix of the Lee Jackson amps and basic SD1 boosted JCM800.

What I want to know...is what he really uses these days. Just can't believe its still a stock JCM800(w/ 6550s)

I was given one of those M1000s a few years ago by a guy on HC, was the WORST amp I've owned.

If you take 2 JCM800 halfstacks, crank the shit out of them, use a Boss SD-1 and a chorus pedal, trust me, it won't need any mods to get that insane gain. The problem for me is i just can't crank a stock Marshall that loud.

  and what do you mean given? did you have to trade anything for it?

no, actually I bought a Triaxis from XiwiwiX and didn't have a power amp for it at the time and dude offered to give it to me to use as a power amp until I could get one, turned out a guy offered me cash for it, before I even recieved it, and I sold it and bought the 2:90. :)

Huh? What did you say? Could you repeat that, thought you said take 2 JCM800s and shit on them, the shove SissyD's 1 chorally and get insane gain entry. But cranking out with stock crank does not get loud for you...... You lost me at if you take 2....
