It's that time of year again... TAX TIME!!!

And well as a business, I unfortunatly pay a check to the IRS, not collect one.

That said funds are super TIGHT between now and April 15th.

But I am fiending for a new Friedman JJ 100...

Since I already have a killer BE100 that rules the universe, the question at hand is....

Should I just punt??? OR throw a "gas crushing" Hail Mary!!!??? :hys:

Interesting topic. I have BE100 and love it. Almost got JJ instead and of course now think about getting a JJ as well but have nowhere near the cash for it right now.

If anyone out there has both, is there a way with specific BE100 settings and a pedal to get a BE100 to give that JJ100 JBE tone? BE modes are the same between the two, so us BE100 owners are only missing that JJ100 JBE mode right?

Or is there more to the JBE mode such that a pedal and some BE100 settings won't get us there?

Money can't be that tight if you can swing a 4k amp. Go for it

If you get $4K back a year from the govt and you put it in an index fund earning 6% (pretty low ROR) you'd have over $55K in 10 years, $155K in 20. Just sayin' and you'd still have a kick a** amp in the BE100. You'll just gas for something else later.

I always try to save a significant portion of large windfalls.

Holy Crap where is your office at???

We really need to do lunch!!! (on me   )

i thought some say the BE chanbel on the JJ is a little different than the BE-100

I don't think I could try to talk anyone out of buying a JJ. It sounded pretty amazing.

However it's one of the most expensive amps in existence.

Wait for a used one, it won't be long now and they will start appearing in the classifieds!

He said that he's not receiving a refund, but paying out instead.

This^^^^.... I would never shell out that kind of coin on an amp. Be patient, wait for a used one and save big $$$$.

The BE-100 is so bad ass, what's the JJ gonna do for you that the BE cant?
Even though I would say, go ahead buy another Friedman, you kinda already have the best.
This...although I would say get the JJ and see which one can do what the other can't, and sell the other.I thought I read where the JJ can cop the BE tone? If that's true is get the JJ and sell the BE....good luck!

I'm kind of in the same boat as you...have a BE-100 and though about getting the JJ as well

BE-100 is pretty close to it, and honestly if you really want another amp, pickup an SLO, or even the new Metroplex from Metropoulis Amplification. Something a little bit more different to diversify the "tonez"

I agree 100%, unless the JJ is just more your speed. Besides everyone knows the perfect compliment for the Brown Eye is a Quick Rod. ;) It's such a greeaassy tone!

Yeah, but why an index fund? Unless you are trying to underperform...... ;)

I say rip it..gas is a beast that must be fed.......

Personally of all the amps I have owned I miss the ENGL Savage 120 the most...

This amp never let me down in 100+ live shows I used it at after switching from many years of a Marshall JMP-1/VHT Power amp rig live...

This rig was brutal and the pits were always thick and on fire...

Crap this picture of my old live rig is making want to buy a new Savage 120 today

Looks like you used to run a Savage and Powerball together...I liked the Savage I had but it was pretty midrange focused, not much bass.

I've had the Be100 and now have JJ...The JJ is tighter and more modern sounding , maybe a little darker. A little bit like a cross between an american High gainer and a Brit.....Its a little bit like if a 5150 and a Marshall had a baby.
