I played an Einstein and the D-Moll seems to be way more aggressive i the gain dept. I'm guessing that was also something the Diezel fanbase wanted... more gain.

I think Peter Diezel realized he should have made the modes switchable on the Einstein instead of mods. As far as gain the Einstein has plenty. I think a lot depends on your cabinet. I owned an Einstein and honestly I thought it sounded like shit, a Shiva 20th I flipped it for smoked it IMHO. BUT, I borrowed a Herbert for a while and loved it! It sounded killer on an old Mesa Boogie metal grill 4x12 loaded with 2 MC90's and 2 EVM200 watters, but I didn't like the Herbert at all on a 70 Marshall's loaded with Blackbacks. I liked the Herbert for leads and heavy stuff but there's nothing Marshall whatsoever about it, and any other Diezel IMHO. But for anything the Herbert can do I've played boosted Recto's that can match them or beat them. So of you guys own some killer modded Recto's that you won't do much better than. The Herbert gives you a lot of versatility and tones without needing mods though.

Slightly less on the peripheral functions as the VH4 or Herbert. Lower price point than the others. Still retains all that is good with a Diezel.
Not the only Diezel with shared EQ. The Einstein's Channel 1 shares EQ between clean, mid-gain, and high-gain. The D-Moll came about because people wanted an Einstein but with the clean channel on its own and the gain channel with shared EQ/Modes. The D-Moll does this. People also wanted MIDI. The D-Moll does this. The way I look at it, the D-Moll is the Einstein's replacement. Which makes sense, since the Einstein has been discontinued.

There's a lot of truth in this statement. as to how many Diezel posts as of late end up having some offhand discussion about EVH amps and how they're comparable to. I don't get it. People - seriously - they're on opposite ends of the spectrum - they're not even related - I don't understand this...
I need another coffee.

Yeah mine are not stellar but I can do clips. Just need to drag dooredge back over for a few hours to make it happen.rlord1974":2iirr7e5 said:Laura":2iirr7e5 said:My buddy bought a Herbert after playing my D-Moll. Next time he is over, we will do an a/b comparison.
Are you able to do clips, or too much of a pain in the A-S-S?
