Anyone have one? Kind of interested in checking one out, but want to make sure they are decent quality!

On the point of ordering one myself. The 27" baritone. But i am waiting till they offer more color options. Don t really like the poplar burst finish. Would like a blue wood grain finish. That would be tits!!!!!

Or even the lemon neon.

Had a neon yellow one. Bought new.

Not bad not good. Medio. Small imperfections in the finish. I’m not ordering a new one again :)

I have two. I have bought 3 but sold my S2.6 when I got the S1.6. I will say the 2.x series are decent but the 1.x models are fantastic. Mine has SS frets, Luminlay, Grover Tuners, and a Hipshot bridge and its my go to guitar. I got it for $999 which is a steal. I also have a E2.6 which is pretty good. I dont have any complaints with that one. The E2.6 is basically a no frills guitar. The QC was fine and it was pretty much good to go right out of the box. My previous guitars were Jackson, Epi's, and Ibanez which all of them had some sort of issue. I've never owned a super high end guitar so I can only compare them to guitars $1000 and under.

That is exactly what concerns me. Feature loaded, expensive features and where does the cost of that come in? Quality? Fit/finish? It comes from somewhere.

Well they are made in Indonesia but he is selling direct mostly so he is getting a bigger cut than what he would get if he was selling to big box stores. I always take my guitars to get setup from my tech who used to work at Dean and Luna guitars as head of QC. Most guitars I take to him he usually nitpicks everything and he usually gives me a lists of all he had to do(he throws in fret leveling and recrowning if the guitar needs it) the last Solar I took to him was my S1.6 and he actually complemented me on my purchase. The guy is awesome but he is the most pessimistic guy ever on guitar companies which is something I appreciate in the guy who Im getting work done.

The shitty thing about it is that you pretty much have to buy one to try it and unless you buy from Thomann there isnt an easy return policy. I have a friend in Germany who bought an A1.6 with Floyd rose and a Jackson Pro Series Rhoads with the intention of sending back one or both the guitars to Thomann if he didnt like them. The Jackson was terrible out of the box according to him but the only thing he said that wasnt positive about the Solar was he didnt like the pickups.

So the pickups are medium output pickups and they arent bad but in my opinion they are just kinda meh. Some people dig them but personally I swap out the bridge for Nazguls in all of mine but I leave the neck stock.

I tend to see a lot of people's post in the various social media groups Im a member of so I see a lot of the posts that are happy and I see the complaints. I usually value negative reviews more than positive ones cause they give me an idea on if it's issues that I would take a risk on or not. A few months ago there was like 4-5 posts where people where having issues with the paint peeling off in certain spots. They all seemed to happen at the same time so maybe it was a bad batch? So I could probably feel ok saying that if you did buy one and had an issue it would more than likely be a cosmetic issue. They are QC'd in the factory but once they get to Spain to their warehouse they do QC them again so they do weed about most of the problem guitars. I've seen posts from people who bought B stock models who couldnt figure out why it was considered a B Stock and were really happy.

Anyway this was a long posts but I wanted to give the most objective view as I can. I think the 2.x models are good guitars but I would rather pay the extra couple hundred more and get a 1.x model as that is where I think they really stand out from the pack of similarly priced guitars.
