Sold a bunch of crap at GC today and came home with…

…a 2012 Gibson Les Paul SHREDDER

I picked this up from my local GC today.

It was a train wreck!! All of the Floyd saddles were froze. The neck looked like a ski jump. Everything was loose. Pots we’re cutting out. Jack was cutting out.

I spent A LOT OF TIME bringing this baby back to life!!!

Love the neck on it. It’s like a medium 50s carve.

It has that stupid circuit board crap in it now, I will probably re wire it with CTS pots and a good pair of PIO caps. It currently has 57 classics in it but I think it needs a hotter bridge pickup.

Overall, a really nice playing guitar.

Those are richlite. I used to have a flame top cherry burst with rosewood

Personally I don’t mind the richlite. I wish my Explorer had it instead of the usual rosewood because black guitar with black fretboard is always better than black guitar with brown fretboard to me.

You guys are totally missing the point !! Any les Paul with a Floyd Rose is blasphemy . I don't care if Neal Schon plays them . I'm an old guy and my opinion is valid !!!!

I took out the circuit board junk today.

New CTS pots. Russian PIO caps. Seymour Duncan JB in The bridge. Seymour Duncan 59 in the neck.

And I blocked the Floyd for dive only.

HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! HUGE!!!

Exactly! I've been wanting a lester with a Floyd for the longest but I only knew of the Axxess which is crazy expensive. I have an LTD EC with FR but it doesn't quite scratch the itch and I don't think going to an ESP would either...altho I'd still love one of those. The 3-knob models are placed horribly for Floyds.
