Format: Head (New Shell)
Tubes: Mesa Boogie 6L6 STR430 (Inner set) and M/B 6L6 STR425 (outer set) power, mix of NOS C8 Beijing (V2 -V4) + Tungsol and Sovtek. (V1 & V5) as preamp. (preamp tubes all new, power tubes lightly used)
Special Features / Comments: Middle pot pull to engage ++ mod, push to III+.
Function: No issues, everything works as it should, no scratchy pots, sliders, etc. everything as new. Reverb tank (unplugged) but installed.
Service History: Fully Serviced(new caps)/++ Mod/GEQ add all done By Mike B on 11/2019.
Shipping: At buyer’s expense (ask for an accurate quote, I ship FEDEX)
Issues: Cleanest 37 year old amp as it can possibly get inside and out and ready to rock your world for the next 40+ years.
Subjective comments: Having owned/played many IIC+ (2-DRG, 1-DRG++, SG, SRG, KG, KRG, HRG) This III blew me away how close it sounded to a IIC++, rhythms sounds ferocious (more aggressive than IIC+), leads liquid and clear, crystal clear cleans. That fizziness of the IIIs is gone, Mike B's magic worked wonders for this amp. It has a very unique sound on its own. It has that growl we all love of the IIC+ with even more aggression.
