Anyone heard one of these or owned one perhaps? There is one on E-bay I put a bid on. Seems like there arent a lot of these floating around. Just curious what I might have got myself into. Steve

Now I want it,

I have gotten a few amps from Polar Bear - he's legit.

Only input I can add is that I know Mike Soldano created the Hot Rod series based on his Marshall mod. Don't know if that helps you but...

I appriciate the input......yngzaklynch. I had a Hot Rod 50 that I loved. Bright amp, but you never got lost in a live mix, thats for sure. Shark Diver....dont bid me up brother! I know this amp has been up before for quite a bit more money. Ill take a chance. Seems like a decent price . Wish he had clips, but oh well.

I remember someone had a warning thread up about him yrs ago, good to know he is legit though now. I too was interested in that Soldano jmp, they lowered the price to a more realistic one. I am curious as if it still has a Marshall type voicing as I don't much care for Soldano amps as much ?

Is it from the guy in Canada? I've seen it before and tried to get him to deal outside ebay (he will if you can make contact) and you can save a little dough. The guy had some unique stuff there at one time, especially if it came from Mike. Mike also developed that little "Hot Mod" tube socket for V2 in your stock Marshall. Just slap it in the socket and a Chinese tube on it and go. It has the components built into it. Probably is very similar to the mod on this amp, if I was to guess. Before you throw down on the amp, you might can give Mike or Bill a shout at Soldano and see what his JMP mod consisted of.

Steve

Hint: Never post on a public forum with fellow amp whores about something on ebay you are interested in

Right at the last second $4k bid...

All yours my friend.

Dan Huff used a Soldano modded Marshall for YEARS. He said he never needed one of Mike's amps because the Marshall was so perfect.

I appreciate everyones input. I think I will call Soldano and see what they say. Couldn't hurt. Last time I called their they were very helpful. Good guys.

Rich Ward from Stuck Mojo and Fozzy was also a longtime SLO modded JMP player.

Rich had SICK tone every time I heard him! Had an old beat up Marshall cab too I always saw him with.

yeah...you and me both. There is just something about a badass amp that someone has sprinkled some magic dust on that does it for me. I mean, if you know what your doing to a good old JMP, it doesnt take too much work to turn it into a firebreather. Im gonna force myself to make some clips of the Soldano this weekend. I'm so damn lazy
