I've been thinking about buying the SLO-30 for a while now and with a Birthday and the Holidays coming up my wife pushed me to buy one.

I have a Soldano Astro 20 which has become my favorite amp due to great tone and 4 footswitchable channel/galaxies making it vey versatile.
The SLO-30 from all my research is more raw and bigger sounding than the Astro, so this should be a great pair of amps.

I currently have a Friedman Little Sister Head and a Friedman JEL-20 head both with matching Friedman 1x12 cabinets.
My Soldano Astro 20 also uses a Friedman 1x12 cab.

The Soldano was a pricey amp, more than I have ever spent on an amp, but I feel it will be worth it.
I don't need to sell anything, but I am going to part with my Friedman JEL-20, great amp, but not as versatile as the Soldano Astro 20, so it won't get used.
Then when the Soldano SLO arrives, that will make it even more expendable.

The Friedman Little Sister has such amazing tone I won't part with it.
I know it won't get used nearly as much, but it will be one heck of a 3rd amp.
I truly believe the Little Sister has the best tone out of any amp I have ever owned, but I am hoping the SLO-30 changes that.
The Little Sister loves a TS808 or SD-1 as a boost, just an amazing amp.

My plan eventually will be to keep the SLO at my primary residence as my main amp, the Astro at my vacation home, and the Little Sister at my primary residence.
I can't wait to post up my first impressions of the SLO.

I knew you would cave....lol, jk. Congrats and hope you enjoy it! You never know unless you try it out. Life is too short to not enjoy what you like.

I knew you would be the first to reply, lol.
Itch I had to scratch.

So many artists have used it, Clapron, EVH, George Lynch, it has to be good.
I am hoping this will be a keeper.
If not, I will stick with the Astro 20 and the Little Sister and move the JEL-20 anyway.

Sometimes you just have to play them yourself live and decide YEA or NEA...........................:2thumbsup::yes:

Let us know how it stacks up to your Astro....................

I will keep you posted.
I am hoping it is good at TV volume, 80dB-86db
They're ok at lower volumes, but not ideal. The Friedmans are fine-tuned for lower volumes, the SLO30 isn't really designed as a low watt bedroom amp, it's just a smaller footprint and lower wattage that still needs goosed to sound good. I tried to like it twice. It was just too tubby for me.. Tonally, they sound fantastic, just not tight in the low end, even boosted with an SD-1.

I decided not to sell my JEL-20, I don't need the money and in case the SLO-30 doesn't do what I want, no sense moving on from a great amp I already have.
Once the SLO arrives things might change, but better to wait for that time to decide.

I think that is a great idea and I have made that mistake myself in the past. I try to hang on to things until I've had time with the newest item and make sure it works for me.

Keep in mind too that you can get an attenuator if you really love the SLO-30 tone. 🤘

I have never been a fan of using an attenuator, but I will try to be open minded if the amo can't do low volues well enough for me.
