Soldano SP77 - whats the different models?

Hey dudes,
been saving some cash so thought its time to waste some. ive seen a soldano sp77 locally and wondered what the gist of them is.
seen a bit of talk about japan vs US made etc.
does anyone know what the differences and any easy ways to tell?
this one is a series 2, with the purple front

also are they awesome or should i not bother and try to score an avenger or hot rod? (SLO's are way outta my price range)

The purple one is the USA Version It is the best version of this preamp. (there is also a pink version made in japan)
