Been considering a micro amp or ts808(for the mid hump thing) for solos through an already dirty marshall type amp. Any suggestions..

i have tried a bunch with various amps the exotic pedals seem to be my fav so far

Eq in the loop works great.

So much this. MXR 10 band. Add gain, volume, and tweak freq response to your liking.

Are you looking for a mid tone boost or a volume boost?

Lots of great options. Cusack screamer, Boss OD1X, eq pedal, Joyo ultimate drive and SD1 are my rotational pedals. The OD1X is always used because it not only doesn't suck low end, but also can add some. With my 2204 its the OD1X and one of the other 4 depending on my mood for a double boost.

Tone or gain boost you want to use a good OD pedal into the front end of your amp.

Solo boost or volume boost you want to use an EQ pedal in the loop. A cheap little Danelectro Fish & Chips does the trick as well as the more expensive MXR pedals. I have both though.

That's why I love my Tech 21 Boost DLA. It has a volume boost on it. It may not be the be all to end all delays but I like it well enough and when I stomp on it for a solo everybody in my basement knows I'm blazin'

I've used the Micro Amp, EP Booster in the past, right now I have Bogner Harlow that's working pretty good. Boost and Compressor depending on how you set it. Could get a little noisy if you crank it too much.

Micro amp is my all time favorite. I used it on the front end, last pedal lead boost with my 1972 Marshall Super lead. I now use it in the loop of my Boogie Mark IIC+, it is sonically transparent and just boosts what you have.

Thanks for all the input. I really dig the boost side on my Aldrich rocket fuel which is supposed to be a clean boost. Kind of overkill just to use for a clean boost so I Just ordered a micro amp to compare (vintage king has them on sale right now for $55 free shipping if anybody is looking). Thanks, Ryan

I like the EH LPB-1. Works great for a little extra boost if the knob is set less than 12:00. After that, it adds a bit of overdrive and compression which can be quite useful in certain situations.

I have the Rocket Fuel LTD. It is a fucking killer boost for Marshall amps.

I set my DSL for crunchy, JCM800 on 8, levels of dirt and I kick in the Rocket Fuel to get me into the hard rock territory. I engage the clean boost side for solos.

If your wanting just a volume boost for leads the TC Electronics Spark Mini Boost works awesome placed in the amps FX loop.

The only problem I've had with mini pedals is when stepping on them during shows, I wound up hitting the knobs. Talk about some loud solos

You will be very happy with the Micro Amp. It is special. I have many boosts sitting on the shelf but the Micro Amp has never left my pedalboard. 34 years on my board, many amps and guitars, styles too.

Looking forward to comparing it with the Aldrich! I also just picked up a Seymour Duncan 805 for a good deal to try
