I've owned JCM800's, DSL's, 2 Laney GH50L's, a GH100L, and played a VH100R, (awesome amp!). I can get a TT50 head relatively cheap, but can't try it. I want a versatile amp, clean, to bluesy, to mean, and British grind! I'm on a budget, or I'd get a JVM, or VH100R.

Where does this amp stack up??

It's your stereotypical JCM800 on roids. I'd say it has a little more laney chime though. it also has a great clean channel. Great amps

Where are you getting one cheap and for how much? I found a site that would drop it down to about 500 shipped for me new in the box. i had a tt100h. it wasnt thebest, but its sure as fuck worth 500 bucks. great for everything not-metal.

$500 WHERE?? I found one for $700. I almost had a TT100 for $349, but they pulled the rug out from under me..

yeah. nobody got it for 350, it was a mistake, idefinitely called in about it. considering there is only one, im going to conceal that information until i decide to pull the trigger or not. :D it was an inside deal, i had to talk to one of the people in the store, but im pretty sure they will sell online.

Not even with a boost? Wylde OD, or TS9?
I had a tt50 for a short time. I never tried to boost it. It was very good at every thing but metal tones with tight lows. It was kinda flubby, which is why I got rid of it.

Maybe you screwed up, not thowing an OD in front. Hell, I boost everything, including 5150's. Course, you lower the gain, but it tightens it up, and gets more brutal tone & saturation. My 5150 was MEAN with a TS9.

Na, I don't miss it. It was not gonna get it done for me. Might be just what you're lookin' for though.

I wouldn't really define the low end as flubby... i would define it as not there.... but thats the same story with most laneys ive played. very brightly voiced. if you want more low end, throw an EQ pedal and V that shit and you wll have the broots all day long.

I owned the TT50h.

At the time I also owned a JMP and a 800.

The TT50 is nothing like a marshall...

Its a very saturated tone. really muddy.

the only way I could use it, was by putting a OCD over the clean channel.

Well, I owned a couple GH50L's, and have played a VH100R. YES, I agree, they are bright! But, it can be dialed out. On my GH's, I had to really back off the presence control, as well as treble. However, that bright attack the Laneys have enable them to cut through like a mo fo! Never hear complaints about a Laney lost in the mix!!

Think I found one for $550...MAN, I'm so tempted. The reviews I've read all have no complaints.

1000% Ditto

Could'nt sell my TT100 fast enough - even took a $200 loss just to send it on its way . Nothing wrong with it - bought it brand New

reason was -

PV sounds like PV
Laney sounds like Laney
& only Marshalls sound like Marshalls (w/ the exception of Metro and similiar)

Period

Yeah, i mean like i said, if you want a laney that you can sell if you dont like, get an older AOR-50 and get it serviced. those are amazing amps. Or if you want to go down that road get a Sovtek MIG-60, i think thats the jcm 800 rip off that is supposed to be pretty damn exact.
