So this happened - I posted an ad on CL saying calls only and I get a text asking if I would accept a call so I text back "OK". Next thing you know I get a Google text code, so I go to text my kids to tell them their code came in on my phone. So before I can do that the douche bag texted me back saying I need to enter the code before he'll call. I politely told him he could fuck himself in his asshole. WTF? What would the code do? I has to be a new kind of scam, right? Anyone know?

I got a similar text, it has been a couple years at least...
wanted me to call them, enter a code,,,,nah fuck that...it's a scam. they're probably setting up fake accounts using your phone number which you give authorization for when you give them the authorization code that they had texted to you and/or using it to gain access to gmail accounts, which you authorize by sharing the code....
