I just put a matched set of Sovtek KT66 tubes in my Egnater Tweaker15. The amp sounds fantastic. Sovtek's KT66 tubes are shorter than any new KT66 on the market. Unfortunately, the KT66 "short bottle" tube has been discontinued. You can still find them on the internet by searching however.

Care to compare to EL34 and 6L6 for me? As well as 6V6 obviously!

KT66 has more high end and low end than a 6L6 as well as pronounced midrange. There is a definite crunch, but perhaps not so much as a EL34. A KT66 tends to be a bit "warmer" sounding than the crispy crunchy drive of an EL34. Obviously Clapton's sound on the Mayall Bluesbreakers "Beano" album is a good example of a Marshall with KT66 tubes, also "Fresh Cream" where Clapton was playing through a JTM45/100 head with 4 KT66 tubes! I love the sound of Clapton's rig on that album. Malcom Young's Marshall also had KT66 valves on the early AC/DC albums.
