I was thinking about buying a Suhr Reactive I.R. as it seems to be the best value. However, though the Suhr Reactive Load is widely regarded as the best load box, the ACE seems to have a dismal following. If the Reactive I.R. is essentially the Reactive Load + ACE, then does that mean it's the best load box + not so great cab sim?

The Torpedo Captor seems like best value out there. Of course, it only allows one preloaded cab to be used. That's OK since I mainly like to use a V30 cab, but I find that a real V30 cab sounds decent with any amp but a simulated V30 cab is hit or miss. At least that's the experience I had with the Torpedo CAB which is really the only cab sim I'm familiar with.

I like the idea of an affordable combo unit because having a separate load box + IR is just two extra devices to manage. However, it could be cool to have a good load box and be able to plug in different cab sim devices. However, this setup is not my first choice.

Since I'm familiar with the Torpedo CAB only, I'd like to know how the other IR devices stack up. Mesa Cab Clone is a hot selling item, but a lot of people have criticized it, but there are also a lot of people who say it's awesome if you know how to use it. The BluBox has good reviews, but there's just not a lot of talk about it to know how it compares.

Lastly, the Fryette Power Load sounds like an awesome solution, but I've heard the speaker sims aren't that great. It would be an affordable one-box solution, but I'd like to know how good the cab sims sound. Then there are the Radial and other cab sim pedals on the market, but I haven't found anything that seems to be worth turning away from the aforementioned. Someone with experience please shed some light on these please.

I got the Suhr RL IR and its great. It comes with a handful of Celestion/Suhr IRs and you can load your own via USB. The ACE was it's own thing from what I understand. It did not have the option to load your own IRs which is what people wanted.

Before getting the new RL IR model I was using the old Suhr RL with a logidy epsi as my hardware IR loader which also worked really good. Honestly both solutions work great but I like having it all in one box now plus having a headphone jack

Love my new suhr REACTIVE LOAD IR. Never liked any analog speakers sims even when paired with a reactive load. I’ll sell you my old reactive load if you want. Wall of sound iii is killer to.

I've only used the Captor. Worked as described but I didnt like the WOS plugin at all. I got better results using my own IR loader and sims.

If I have to do it over again, I'll get the Fryette.

Also celestion IRs took a fat shit on every free one I've ever tried.

It's great to hear about the Suhr Reactive IR. I've been leaning toward that one the most. The UAOX costs twice as much and there isn't any justification for me to spend that much for my needs. The Rivera Rockrec sounds like another pretty good solution but it doesn't have the greatest reviews.
