I have a cluster fuck of a 4x12, and had 2 speakers go out. The wiring in this has always been a mess, as I've changed speakers numerous times. Its wired 8 ohms mono, 16 ohms per side stereo, (all 8 ohm speakers). It's missing tee nuts, mounting bolts, you name it. Long story short, I got new hardware to fix all that, but want to make sure all is wired properly.

My question is, looking at the jack plate in the pic, am I safe to assume the left side, yellow is negative, and blue positive, and on the right, black positive, red negative??

Then, I got 2 yellow jumpers.

Or, off the jack, does the yellow goe to + on one speaker, blue goes + on the other speaker, and the jumpers join the two to each's negative?

I hate those switched jack plates but those look like Cliff jacks. On the right your red should be positive, black negative. On the left, yellow positive, blue negative.

Once you get out of that switched jumper thing, you should use red & black to one speaker (+ and - respectively, then yellow and blue to the other side).

But it should be using 16 ohm speakers, and be 8 ohms mono, 16 ohms stereo on each side.

If you're using 8 ohm speakers, it's 4 ohms mono and 8 ohms stereo per side.

Good luck!

I think I have a grasp on it...

I believe, I need red to go to top right speaker positive, black to bottom right negative, and jumper those from positive to negative.
Left side, yellow to top left positive, blue to bottom left negative, and jumper those two open terminals.

I believe thats how it rolls.
That gives me all 4 8 ohm speakers 8 ohms mono, and 16 per side, stereo.

Jack tip should be positive so it looks like red and yellow are your positive leads and black and blue are your negatives. So I think your plan is correct.

I'd hate to think I off'd a couple amps because my cab's been out of phase, but that's indeed the case!
