I'm getting ready to order an Avatar Vintage 2x12 to pair with my Runt 50, and am undecided on speakers.

I thought the V30/GH30 would be a good choice, but thought about going the Hellatone route. But, with several offerings, I want to get it right the first time...

I see a lot of chatter about the Creambacks. I'm looking for a big, warm, punchy tone, and away from Greenbacks.

Tight low end is key, as is relaxed highs. The Runt is very warm, but does get pretty bright as the volume creeps up!

I'm playing mostly thrash, if that gives you an idea of the tones I'm dialing in. I'm thinking maybe a Hellatone 60 and K100?

I went from an Orange 2x12 with 2 v30's to a Splawn with 2 Creamback 65's to finally a KSR cab with a V30 and a Creamback 75. The KSR cab just suits me. These two speakers complement each other well IMHO. I think my next cab I'm going to try redbacks.

What's the difference between the Creamback 65 & 75?

65's more mid range with a bit of a looser feel. ( not flubby) H75's more bass and highs. Feels tighter in the lowend and the highs are sweetened not ice picky !

I've been digging on a V30 and a redback in my 2x12 lately. Very full sounding when paired. I tried two redbacks together and it sounded good but a little dark. Gets to about 4x12 volume without the bottom end sounding like shit too.

Scumback H75s or Fane F70. Since your buying from Avatar I’d get the Fanes

I like a v30 and an alnico cream. Or a v30 and m65 creamback for something a little darker sounding.

I agree with what EMG77's description. The 65's were perfect for my Splawn QR and Nitro when I had them. When I got my Orthos I wanted the mids of a v30 but not as much as what I had in my Orange cab with both. Having the V30 and the Creamback 75 just filled out my sound.

I'm definitely wanting to experiment a bit more on my next cab. I really wish we had a place locally with some decent cabs to try.

A classic lead 80 sounds like the speaker you're looking for with relaxed highs but tight low end.

V30/h75 in my Bogner OS2x12 for a good while now.
Paired great with all my Friedman and other amps.

I liked what I heard in this vid the other day. He has a V30 and Creamback together and sounds great!

I think this is the pair I'm going to go with. How do you like it?

It sounds great, needs volume. However, my Greenback cab sounds outstanding. If you're interested, I'll sell you the Avatar. I literally just got it Tuesday!

If you have it toward the end of September I may take you up on that. I maybe in Lakeland late September
