Speakers for the Hagen - 4x12 cab..

I think Poppa will chime in here eventually, but according to what I'd heard through Diezel HQ, the Hagen will sound very good (studio grade) with G12K100's in an FL 4x12, and will cut better in a live environment with V30s. I cannot speak about RL, but from what I've gathered thus far, the above info was what was given to me.

Correct me if I am wrong please.

Absolutely loved my cab that has a mix of V30's and K100's.... Each speaker filled in the others gaps and made for an absolutely massive sound, this was in a rear loaded Mills cab, just thought I would add that for comparison or decision making... When is the Hagen shipping? I seriously doubt anything can dethrone my VH-4, but I'm very curious.

Have the chance to pick up a Schmidt for really cheap, it's not really my style but I may never have another chance to have one so I may go for it, not that that is relevant to this thread, damn it's late....good luck with your cab decisions lol.

Thanks Mo

I'd really like to hear what Peter thinks of the Celestion G12 Century Speakers with his heads (not the Vintage).

I know they're a lot of $$, but I'd consider at least running 2 of them with Mesa Boogie Black Shadows (16 ohm) for a heavy Rock or Metal guitarist. This blend would be IMO a Metal players ideal setup.

Always hard to tell how 2 different speakers are going to match up when used together sometimes a good blend sometimes one easily over takes another..

Front Loaded 30s and 100s for vh4. Live and studio. I've tried over 30 diff speaker combinations and 30's and 100's win every time for me even in 4 diff cabs.

Agreed, albeit I am not a fan of mixing speakers, of the ones that I am okay with mixing and have had great results, it's ALWAYS the V30 x G12K combo. And FL just seems to be the way to go with Diezel's higher gain heads regardless...

Peace,
V.

Slyvren, does that 30 speakers comment happen to include the G12's and Black Shadows, curious?

Peter or others - any further thoughts on this?

V30 G12K100 mix is the standard it seems. Any others?

Uh-ha...that's one man's opinion (please), and we all have them.

I've had my two RL V30 + DC 4x12 cabs for 5+ years and I've heard all the afore-mentioned. These ears haven't heard anything better. I'll stick with my config any day. A mix of sweet classic and metal... :gethim:

Anyone who wants to try out different Diezel Amps, Cabs and Speakers is welcome to come to my place. I usually have a range of amps and cabs available for testing.

I have front loaded and rear loaded cabs with G12-k100s, V30s and "Tone Tubby Hemp Cones" .

Hey jens, if you dont have a Hagen in , I would be more than happy to bring mine for a Diezel Amp fest one of these days..

Thanks, Reza. Great offer ! I am getting a Hagen in about 1 week so the L.A. studio folks and musicians can came to my shop and take her for a spin.

I do want to throw a Diezel Fest at some point. I've got my own little Bavarian beergarden right by my shop on a big lot, so we can have BBQ, beer and make lots of noise. For that we would need your white Hagen ! All that gear will look like the German tanks are rolling in (yet again). This time for peace keeping purposes, of course !

I have this vision of WALLS of Diezel Cabs, all the different amp models and a big barrel of Bavarian beer !!! Who is with me? Anyone??? Can't hear you!!! :D
