I know they are no Dokken but I have been a fan for decades. Mike Reno still sounds damn good and voice seems strong given his age and health Dude looks like John Candy and Gary Shandling had a lovechild but he's rocking his ass off in his mid to late 60's.

I don't care what anyone says, those guys had some badass songs for a "mainstream rock" band. They really had a ton of guitars in their sound like Night Ranger. His voice does sound great! Damn, maybe he should join Dokken.

Some odd, yet actually probably good mic technique from the singer. Seems to change the angle of the mic based on how hard he's singing. Dude's basically doing all of the compression for the sound guy.

Anyway, yeah they're actually still pretty good given their age. The singer still sounds fantastic.

Bob Rock had some very complimentary things to say about Mike Dean on a recent tone talk.
Said he was the first guitarist he worked with to come in and say " this is my gear, and this is my sound" and really pushed Bob to capture it.
Turn Me Loose is one guitar track, panned slightly left. Sounds incredible.

Edit: sorry, the name of the guitar player in Loverboy I am referring to is Paul Dean.
Mike Dean is the bass player in Corrosion Of Conformity ( one of my fav bands by the way  )
Sorry for the confusion :D

Paul Dean’s tone cuts like a knife. And Mike sounds great. Good thing he’s not sporting the red leather pants still though.

I opened for them in 1996 four days after I joined the band. I learn material faster than most people. It was a pretty good gig. About 6000 people there. They sounded good. A lot of attractive women there.

That's pretty impressive vocals, all things considered. They're killin' it!

Right? Dude can still hit mom at of the big notes without them having to tune 3 steps down as well.

I love me some Loverboy.

Great band with a great guitar tone then and now.

Yeah. Love the guitar tone. A lot more than the image and abundance of synth lol.

Cool video this one is:

Man they have always just been solid! Also, as mentioned above, Reno has killer mic technique. Also at his age to have such a strong voice! We should all be so lucky if we're singers.

WOW. I shit you not. I'm sitting here on hold with a company called partstree and the hold music sounds just like an elevator version of 'Queen of the Broken Hearts'

Go figure

Exactly. Solid tone and songs then and now.

One of my first concerts was in 8th grade; Loverboy at LaCrosse Center. Good times. Then, in 2012 saw them at a small town festival near me in Wi. They sounded great! Paul Dean played everything note for note; although he didn’t move one inch the whole show. They all stuck around and hung out after..pretty cool of them. Mike Reno was making fun of himself too; it was hilarious. Good stuff.

Always a fan of these guys! Growing up in southern Ont, we were always hearing them on the radio and saw them locally many times. Always great!

The kid is hot tonite and Take me to the top are both on my usb drive in my truck. Fan since early 80s

Normally I'm not into old, fat, sweaty guys (see enough of that every time I accidentally see myself in the mirror) but Mike Reno FUCKING DESTROYS!
