pretty much brand spanking new
its the series II (not sure if this means its made by peavey?) with the budda phat custom speaker. the amp+speaker in this combo is insanely loud and i would not recommend it for purely home use.

this is a demo with the master volume set quite low and the speaker has less than 1 hour clocked on it, so theres a bit of harshness/brittleness on higher gain settings.

Superdrive II means it has the pull mid/modern circuit. Makes the amp much more versatile. I always had that mode pulled.

Have you had a chance to crank it up yet? They are great sounding amps. I almost bought one a few years back but it was on consignment, overpriced and there was some obnoxious rattle and vibration coming from it.

I've got one of those as well, picked it up used but basically brand new for $850 shipped and pped, great deal and stellar combo, in a ton of posts I've read as far as there being any difference between pre and post peavey buddas, they say that the peavey actually sounds just as good if not better with a bit more clean headroom and it's got some better build characteristics and the addition of a 16 ohm switch which is great.

not at band volumes. i wish i could have pushed the volume higher for this demo but it borderline uncomfortable at the setting i had.
its one of the loudest 18W combos ive come across, and curious as to the spec of the budda phat speaker...its efficiency rating must be off the chart.

and RE overpriced....this thing apparently cost $2799 AUD !!!

series 2 doesnt mean its peavey made, the series 2 came out before peavey so it could be either way. I have heard many say that there is no differance in tone etc. I am very interested in trying

Ha!, Now I remember why I'm not in a hurry to move back to Australia!
You think with the US dollar so weak compared to the AUS dollar right now the price would be down on imported gear. I remember when the US dollar sunk against the pound and Marshall prices went way up quite a few years ago.

Reminded me of old Lifeson tone.

do you mean this in a good or bad way?

I honestly think he meant that as a compliment. That could never be a bad thing. Sounded great to me too!

There's one on ebay right now for a good price, a day left. I have no connection to it.

the owner just came to pick it up...managed to squeeze one more clip out...
this is him playing on his washburn hollowbody and im the knob turning monkey this time.. managed to show the "modern" pull setting this time too

The Friedman JCA-20 would spank that thing.
If my memory serves me correctly Dave Friedman designed the preamp section of the Budda superdrive series. ;)

I'm aware of that but my opinion still stands.
