Sounds killer!! Is that straight in? Very tight and a great tone

I'm guessing by the YT description it is.

I'm going to see if he can post over here

No QR I've owned (had 3) ever sounded like that.

Yeah mine definitely didn't sound like that. It doesn't sound as dry as mine did. My Nitro coupled with a buxom boost did. If I could have plugged straight in and got this tone I would have kept mine. Having said that I would love to have another Splawn but after getting my 2204 modded I'm pretty much set on hot rodded marshall tones. Although I would love to have a 50watt supersport.

It sounds pretty close to the tone I get out of your old one. It easily the tightest amp without a boost that I own. I won’t say it exact but I can get fairly close. I love my Kemper and fractal but the Splawn really made me a better player. It’s so tight that it showed every mistake like a sore thumb

I've got two 50 watt Super Sports and I could dial in that tone in the vid the OP posted if I chose to

I would take it either way,was hoping if it wasn't straight in what boost is being used. Sounds tight and thick not to bright or to low, mids not to scooped.

Wolf is friend of mine and one of gear-whores in Czech Rep. He is not fan of boost before amp so I bet this particular clip is make without. Fishman's help with tightness too and last but not least, his playing is very tight.

The k85/100's make a big difference with Splawns. I use them quite a bit.

I had EL34's in both my Nitro and Quick Rod. Damn I need to revisit these with different tubes.

I still like the KT88 Nitro more than the EL34 tbh. Generally I am a big KT88 guy.

I really think a major part of the clip is the K100. They get along with Splawns extremely well.

I was using Creamback 65's with mine. I've been really satisified with my Monomyth 2204 but I'm starting to get G.A.S for another Splawn. Damn you guys.

I had a 2014 Po Stock with El34s and this is what mine sounded like through clips at least. Badass amp. I really liked my Splawn despite some grievances with it. I moved to Friedmans, which yes, cost a buttload more, but I prefer them. However, I have recently looked at trying Splawn again, but only a Fully Loaded one.

Splawns are definitely tighter. I had the B+ Pro Stock. It was still pretty tight compared to the Friedman. I wish the Splawns had a switch that could give it a bit more 1) saggy feel closer to a friedman if you wanted that feel, and 2) more 3D bloom like the Friedman. Just my preference.

Can't go wrong with a Splawn.

Clips are clips, but I feel the 2013 Drop b+ I had sounded close to this; I played it through an EVH 412 in tandem with a K100 loaded oversized 2x12. I have a 2019 QR coming with no extra switches and am hoping it's at least similar to the 2013 I had as I absolutely loved that amp. Closest thing to the Wizard tightness, thump and articulation I've ever experienced. Certain Fryette amps are a close third.

I run KT77's in my Competition, and boost it with a VFE Dragon. Since getting the Dragon, I've shifted to Gear 1, (no pun intended). I can fatten it up with the LPF knob, and the added aggression of the KT77's translates nicely.

However, Gear 2 is gratifying as well. More low mids, but I like the openness of Gear 1. Still has great attack.
