Ss100 and Fane apeakers question...

Hi all,
I'm lucky enough on 2 accounts to own a vintage Hiwatt cab w fanes and have an SS100 incoming (which I've been lusting after for years!). My question is has anybody played the SS through vintage fanes? Dave in the factory maybe? I know the old Hiwatt cab was a secret weapon of GLynch so maybe there will be a unique connection?!
Anyways, if someone has any info it'd be great - unfortunately it'll be a while before I get the map and cab together!

Ps, what's the best speakers for a SS in a 2x12 setup?!

Not vintage, but I play a SB through Fane F70s. Kick ass tone. If your vintage hiwatt cab sounds good, it will sound good with your Friedman.

Just to chime in, it sounds sublime!! That big ported cab is massive sounding

not me, I have compared it to 2 friedman cabs, one with all V-30s and one with a combo of V-30s and green backs and the all V-30s clearly sounded better.

The Fanes were used by Lynch in his tone deaf period, when he was down tuning guitars and trying to be nu-metal. Not during his golden years.
