Steve Morse does some killer stuff w/ delay

I LOVE Steve Morse and the live DVD I saw with Deep Purple was absolutely killer! His playing fit perfectly with them imho. There is no 100% replacing Ritchie Blackmore in that context but I feel like he fit well because he is different. Kind of like Paul Rodgers with Queen, completely different than Mercury but that's why it worked so well.

dregs and his introduction album were crushing,
but i gotta tell you, when he opened solo on acoustic steel string for the super trio at the waikiki shell in 83/84, he was on another planet.
it wasn't all fruity new world smooth jazz like some of his other acoustic stuff recently, it was tear your head off electric licks on acoustic.
